ü Know your strengths/skills and how they qualify you for the jobs/internships you’re seeking.

ü Create/update resume & cover letter: Resources on Handshake!

Tip: Knowing facts about their company culture and/or mission shows interest and initiative.

Practice

ü Your elevator speech with family, friends, faculty and/or advisors. Craft a few key sentences that will effectively introduce who you are and what you are studying, work experiences or future goals.

ü Your list of questions for employers. This will help create a dialog with recruiters to discover more about their company and what they offer.

Tip: Talk with a variety of employers. With practice, each interaction will feel more comfortable.
