University of Manitoba Department of Psychiatry Research Report

It is our pleasure to write this fourteenth Annual Department of Psychiatry Research Report. The research and scholarly productivity of department members, residents, and graduate students is outstanding. Research conducted within the department spans all four pillars of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (basic science, clinical, population-health, and sociocultural). Some of the highlights of this year were national awards received by James Bolton, Harvey Chochinov and Jitender Sareen. Mentorship, excellence, and interdisciplinary team work has led to the success of the researchers in our department. Forums such as the Resident Research Day and Faculty Research Day foster the capacity for generating new research ideas and collaborations. We thank all faculty members, residents and graduate students for their hard work in 2011.

Jitender Sareen, MD, FRCPC Murray W. Enns, MD, FRCPC Director of Research Professor and Head Professor June 2011
