The University of Iowa Global Health Studies Program (GHSP) offers an interdisciplinary approach to the study of the complex factors influencing health and disease locally and around the world.
INTRODUCTION
As the Global Health Studies Major heads into its fourth year we take a moment to recognize the work students and faculty have been doing to make this a successful program. We are very proud of the work our students and faculty are engaging in both locally and around the world. For over two decades, the Global Health Studies Program has been a leader of interdisciplinarity at the University of Iowa—grounding inquiry in the humanities and social sciences. Like our growing number of majors, our minor and certificate students continue to challenge disciplinary boundaries to prepare themselves to be global actors. Global Health Studies students graduate with incredible experiences led by a faculty that mentors and challenges them to achieve. I invite you to take a look at some of our accomplishments from the 2018-19 academic year.
