1) M: The means presented in this report are on a 5-point Likert scale (1 = Strongly Disagree, 2 = Disagree, 3 = Neutral, 4 = Agree

and 5 = Strongly Agree; red if M < 3.0).

2) ES1: Difference of the means comparing to the HKU results was calculated by Cohen's d (in blue font): Negligible (d < 0.10),

Small (0.10 ≤ d < 0.30), Medium (0.30 ≤ d < 0.50), and Large (d ≥ 0.50). “+M” and “+L” are highlighted in green, and “-M” and

“-L” are highlighted in yellow.

3) ES2: Difference of the means between the 2015-16 and 2014-15 results was calculated by Cohen's d (in black font): Negligible (d

< 0.10), Small (0.10 ≤ d < 0.30), Medium (0.30 ≤ d < 0.50), and Large (d ≥ 0.50). “+M” and “+L” are highlighted in green, and “-

M” and “-L” are highlighted in yellow.

4) Concerning sensitivity with small number of returns, the reported results were not highlighted in color for scales where fewer than

20 valid responses were received in the survey. The results should be interpreted with caution.

5) "-" in the Mean column denotes that there was one or no response received for the scale; "-" in the ES1 / ES2 columns denotes that

the Cohen's d value was undefined (i.e., all survey respondents of the compared groups endorsed the same rating in the scale, or

the standard deviation of the scale was undefined).

6) The scales of Common Core overall evaluation (Q33; one question asking for each Area of Inquiry) were first introduced in the

2015-16 SLEQ-UG1.
