A full detailed inspection is carried out by Engineering Inspections every three years.Check for split cables, exposed coloured wiring, damaged plugs, equipment damage, signs of fire damage on the equipment, loose wiring at plug or equipment junction, overheating of plugs or overloaded sockets, dust build up and liquid spillage when you use equipment. Report any findings to your manager immediately. Defective portable equipment is responsible for 36% of all electric shocks within work places.

PREVENTATIVE TRAINING INFORMATIONTrailing cables are common causes of trips but are easily avoided.The force of someone tripping on a cable can lead to equipment damage, possible electrocution, fire and bodily injury.Report any trailing cables to your supervisor.When moving or using equipment, have regard to its positioning to ensure that the cables are not left in a dangerous position.Use rubber covers when positioning equipment in regularly used areas. If none are available report this matter to your supervisor and securely tape down cables as a temporary measure.

Even if you have to leave the room for a short period, always lock the door and never leave any of these areas open and unattended at any time.

3. Remove and replace light bulb.4. Switch on the power and remove warning sign and equipment.
Remember, never get anyone else to test it while you are located adjacent to the bulb or holding it in place.

PREVENTATIVE TRAINING INFORMATIONA safe system of work requires to be followed when dealing with any body secretions or body fluid spillages such as urine, excreta and blood. If any of these substances are handled incorrectly, the potential risk of diseases transferring to you are great. Accordingly, the following steps should be followed:-
1. Position a cone in the area to warn others of the danger.2. Do not handle any bodily fluids or substances unless appropriate
disposable gloves are being worn.3. Mop up spillages with a suitable disposable material e.g. paper towels.4. If possible, mop up the floor thoroughly using a sanitising solution and
leave the cone in place until the area is dry.5. If this is not possible, scrub the affected surface i.e. carpet with a cloth
soaked in sanitising solution.6. Report any incidents of body fluid or substance spillage immediately to
your manager.Only qualified first aiders within the branch should attempt to give mouth to mouth resuscitation and this should only be done using a disposable mouth piece.SUGGESTED TRAINING FREQUENCY:6 MONTHLY
