Tonkawa Tribe of Oklahoma
I would like to introduce myself, my name is Kianna DeLodge, I have been hired to be the Tribal Sexual Assault Services Program Director, I am twenty-four years old, my hometown always has been Tonkawa. I am currently working towards my Bachelor’s degree in Criminal
Justice with a minor in Psychology. I graduated with my di-ploma in 2014 from Tonkawa High School, then graduated with my Associate’s in May of 2019 from NOC-Tonkawa and I am looking forward to receiving my Bachelor’s in December of 2020 from Northwestern Oklahoma State University then moving forward to the University of Oklahoma for my Mas-ter’s and PhD.
I have a lot of focus for the adults, youth and generations to come, my emphasis is to keep everyone aware of the strangers that are lurking around the community and having an eye for suspicious activity around the community, I want everyone to learn and be more conscious of Human Traffick-ing, as well as informing what Human Trafficking really is and how to stop it from happening. With this being a new grant within the Tonkawa Tribe, and as far as I know being the only grant around that deals with human trafficking, I am hoping to give the best information I can as well give the best help I can, doing what is best for the people and putting a stop to it! I have big plans for the grant and big plans for our community, I am excited for everyone to see what I have planned for the years to come!

The 2019 year has ended and now we look forward to the year 2020!!
Welcome to the New Year with your new Goal to reach!!
You are in charge of Yourself! You are important to everyone around you. If you haven’t taken the time to consider the upcoming year, just stop and think of it, and take Action!
A goal could be to spend more quality time with your family, eat portion controlled meals. Keep scheduled medical appointments and take your medication as prescribed every day, Exercise might be to walk every day, keep a journal of your activity...etc.
Ever wonder why it’s so hard to keep weight off? Maybe the reason is that times have changed. We are not as active as our ancestors. We for long hours. We have several jobs. We work office jobs where we sit in a chair for most of the day. This is not what we used to do. Our Native American Ancestors walked all day long, or rode the horses for hunting. Compare that to what we do today. Think about it for a minute. We can walk everyday. We can ride bikes everyday. Some of us may even prepare a garden and continue working the soil until our fruits and vegetables grow, or flowers bloom. Any physical activity we do every day will help us be more like our ancestors.
Simple ways to keep a journal:
1. Keep it simple. Use a plain notebook or calendar.
2. Start with the facts. What did you do? Where did you go? Who did you see?
3. Add some feelings. And if you don’t like to write just draw a smiley face for a good day or a sad face for a stressed day.
4. Add more information, like blood sugar levels, or even your goals.
5. As the journal gets longer, go back and read where you were one week, one month, or one year ago. Chances are you will have come a long way!!
As the New Year begins, consider making a stop to visit with The Diabetes Coordinator!! Make a new application for assistance needed in 2020. Check into some of the upcoming activities for the new year. We are located in the JR/SR building. If the door is closed, please leave a note or call to let me know you had stopped by. Thank you for your time!
Enjoy the New Year!!
ATTENTION: ICW is in need of Foster families!
