ANNUAL FUND AND CHALLENGE GRANT UPDATE: Thank you for pledging to the annual fund—the main source of income for our operating budget. Of the 833 pledge packets mailed, we have 522 pledges—about 63% participation from our members. The total amount pledged is $1,479,565—for $93,000 more than last year. Of that total, response to the challenge grant was $132,557 in new or increased pledges since January 20. The average pledge is $2837; the median pledge is $1800. TODAY Welcome, Newcomers! Be sure to stop by the newcomers table (located just outside the Great Hall) after the 10:00 a.m. service. A greeter will answer your questions about our church and the many opportunities here. We’d also like to get your contact information so you can receive weekly parish emails and so one of our shepherds can help you explore making the Chapel of the Cross your spiritual home. If you can’t visit the newcomers table, fill out the contact information portion of the welcome brochure from the pew and drop it in the collection plate. Chapels of the Cross Celebration Please join us after the 10 a.m. service in the Great Hall for cake and refreshments as we celebrate the three sister Chapels of the Cross-Chapel of the Cross, Chapel Hill, N.C., Chapel of the Cross at Kwasa, South Africa, and La Capilla de la Cruz (Chapel of the Cross) at La Esperanza de Jesús, Honduras. Both chapels grew from the relationship with our Chapel of the Cross. The nursery will open at 9:45 a.m. Child care for special programs will be offered in the nursery (infants and toddlers) and on the playground (preschool and elementary school). Children using the playground during this time must be signed in and out of the supervised child care or accompanied by an adult. Please see a staff member when dropping off or picking up your child.
