At Alton Jones, we pack a whole summer into one week! With trained staff as role models and more than 2,300 acres of lakes, forests and farmland, the W. Alton Jones Campus in West Greenwich offers a big backyard for learning, exploration, adventure and fun. We have a 75-acre lake, a historical farm, 10 miles of hiking trails, wildflower meadows, streams and ponds. At Alton Jones you can get outdoors, learn new skills and make new friends in a wholesome and fun setting. Come to Alton Jones Camp and take away some great memories!

Managing camp schedules and childcare plans during the summer can be a challenge. Bright Horizons Back-up Care can help! Brown University offers eligible employees access to back-up care for children, adults, or themselves when there is a temporary breakdown in normal care arrangements. The back-up care program provides 24/7 access to qualified specialists, at a low cost to employees, for both planned and unplanned care needs.

Audubon Camp gets kids, ages 2-13, outside to explore a variety of habitats and provides a safe environment to have lots of fun in nature. Camp Instructors are experienced environmental educators with training in education and natural sciences. We have a low camper to staff ratio, with lots of opportunities for hands on exploration and free play. We have two locations: Caratunk Wildlife Refuge camp in Seekonk (close to East Providence) and our Bristol, RI Nature Center and Aquarium in Bristol, RI.

Brown Pre-College Programs offer high school students an intellectually transformative experience in and out of the classroom. With over 300 courses to choose from, reflecting Brown’s distinctive Open Curriculum, rigorous college-level coursework is available in a wide range of disciplines including Leadership, STEM, Arts & Humanities, Medicine and more. Students may choose programs on-campus, online or abroad.

Brown Summer High School is a low cost morning enrichment program that provides motivated local students with a chance to pursue study in areas that interest them most. Courses are offered in English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.

Brown Summer High School challenges students to think deeply about big questions. Students pursue deep learning in two courses during the month of July. Courses include hands-on and experiential learning that is focused on collaboration, discussion, and creative labs and projects. All courses have a focus on equity and justice so that learning is relevant to students’ daily lives.

The Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket’s Camp Ramsbottom, located in Rehoboth, MA, has been creating lifelong memories for 50+ years! Convenient, safe and affordable, Camp Ramsbottom offers fun, adventure, and learning on 160 beautiful country acres. Professional and caring staff supervise youth ages 6-13 while they participate in a wide range of activities from recreation and sports to arts and crafts. Sessions run June 22 – August 14, 2020, and bus service is provided from numerous locations in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. ACA accredited.

Brown University offers over 50 summer sports camps for athletes. Camps are led by Brown's varsity coaches, their staff and current Brown student - athletes. Many camps also feature guest coaches from other universities. Camps are held on the Brown campus which is located in historic Providence, Rhode Island. Overnight campers reside in one of Brown’s residence halls and eat meals in the dining facilities. Brown University Sports Camps are open to any and all that meet the listed age requirements for each camp.

• Ages 6 - 18 (age requirements vary by camp). Please check our website for detailed information on each camp. All residential campers must be at least 14 years old by the start of camp.

• Discounts for children of Brown University faculty and staff are available for select sport camps. Please check camp specific pages on our website for more information!

Cub Scout Day Camp

Cub Scout Family Day Camp is a great way for your Cub Scout age son or daughter to experience the thrill of the outdoors while serving as an introduction to independence from mom and dad without being too far from home. We offer three Day Camps in southern New England: Cranston, RI, South Kingstown, RI and Kingston, MA. The week-long program fills each day with adventure and experiences for which families join the Scouting program. Activities include archery, survival skills, boating, outdoor skills, nature appreciation, conservation projects, swimming, crafts, STEM, and much more. All Day Camps offer extended hours for families whose schedule does not fit the 9am-4pm time period, we also provide bussing from all corners of Southeastern New England.

• 1st-5th graders welcome

EXPLO runs hands-on, interactive, and fun programs for students entering grades 2 — 12. On our EXPLO Boston campus at Wheaton College, you will find students building a hovercraft, canoeing on Peacock Pond, and putting together a trebuchet in Medieval Battle Contraptions. EXPLO offers internationally-renowned summer programs for the bold of spirit and curious at heart.

Festival Ballet Full and Half Day Camps Magical Dancer Camp: (Half day) Students engage in a daily pre-ballet class, learn the story line from one of the ballet classics, explore movement and music related to the ballet, and use arts and crafts to create props and costumes. Create-a-Ballet Camp: (Full day) Students will explore aspects of classical ballet and theater while creating their very own production based on a traditional story ballet. Students will be involved in developing choreography and designing sets and costumes.

The Friends Academy Summer Programs offers camps ranging from sports, creative offerings, cooking, computer programming, educational opportunities, and theme weeks for younger campers. We offer week-long day programming in adventure and survival, along with off-site overnight expedition programs for both canoeing and hiking, and cycling.

• Welcoming campers from 3 years old through 11th grade.

• 9:00am-3:00pm. Extended care is available from 8:00am-5:00pm.

• Expedition programs leave Monday morning and return Friday afternoon.

Herreshoff Marine Museum

The Herreshoff Marine Museum offers unique & interactive youth and adult sailing classes for the spring, summer, and fall. The mission of the Herreshoff Seamanship Program is to teach the art of seamanship and the principles of sailing, with an emphasis on excellent instruction, as well as the design, beauty, and unique features of these classic vessels. All classes are taught on our

Herreshoff 12 ½s – 16 foot wooden sloops with jib, main & spinnaker – or our Sea Sprite 23s on the Narragansett Bay. Scholarships and sibling discounts are available for families who qualify.

Summer J-Camp is an inclusive coed day camp located in the heart of the Eastside of Providence. Campers will enjoy swim lessons, lunch, athletics, art, choice activities, and weekly trips. Each week follows a Judaic theme and secular theme designed to give our kids a better understanding of the world they live in.

Young designers ages 8 - 19 learn professional standards in fashion design at this fun and educational course. For Project FashionWorks, no experience is necessary, just a love for fashion and the desire to learn! The workshop will cover the essentials of fashion including design vocabulary, sketching fashion figures, using markers and understanding how to use colors and fabric to develop an illustrated men’s or women’s fashion collection. Elana will work individually with the up and coming designers to clearly develop their skills and showcase their personal style. Choose Tween (8-12) or Teen (13-19) class.

RISD’s Young Artist Program heats up each summer with expanded course offerings for kids and teens ages 6–17. Young artists immerse themselves in the art-making process and have fun creating and sharing with others, in courses and camps taught by instructors who are energetic and passionate about art education.

Experience Rhode Island School of Design’s unique facilities, including studio space, animation and photography labs, the RISD Museum, the Nature Lab, and Tillinghast Place in Barrington. Explore topics ranging from drawing, painting and sculpture to cartooning, animation and moviemaking. Full-day camps and half-day courses run from June 15–August 14, 2020.

Snapology camps provide a perfect mixture of learning and fun. We incorporate the education, social skills and STEAM concepts into the creating, inventing, games and fun. All of the learning principles taught in our programs are mapped to Common Core Standards and many are mapped to Next Generation Science Standards. This year we've got a ton of great camps happening at our pop-up location in Lincoln, the Town of East Greenwich, the Town of Portsmouth, Saint Michael’s Country Day School in Newport and some of our favorite YMCAs around the state. Save the Bay Summer BayCamp Narragansett Bay is what sets our summer camps apart from all the rest. In fact, it's our campground. At Summer BayCamp, during our week-long, full- and half-day camps, children from kindergarten through high school enjoy hands-on exploration of Rhode Island's greatest natural resource: Narragansett Bay. From sailing and science to critters and crafts, at multiple locations throughout Rhode Island, there's a camp for every child who loves the outdoors.

Does your child love Harry Potter? Ever wish they could go to Wizard Academy? At our day camp, your child will travel to a magical school, be sorted into one of four unique houses, receive a personalized wand, attend classes like Potions, Transfiguration, and Defense Against the Dark Arts… oh, and play Quidditch! Staff are in character and in costumes the entire time, creating an immersive theatrical experience. It’s “Story-Based Theatre with a side of STEAMM” - science, tech, engineering, arts, music, and math - because we mix in a little bit of everything for every learning style. We are also offering a Jedi Academy (April 17-21) and Camp Half-Blood (Aug. 10-14).

Calling all chefs! Taste Buds Kitchen is offering a full lineup of delicious cooking camps. Create and taste your way through new and unique menus each week. Popular themes include Around the World, Baking Championship, Cooking Science, Mystery Basket, Cookie and Cupcake Challenge & more.

Engaging, age-appropriate half-day camps are available for kids ages 4-17.

Wheeler Summer Camp programs, for children ages 3 to 15, feature a busy day full of fun camp activities for campers grouped by age. Our Specialty Camps are full-day programs that include a half-day of Specialty Camp and half-day of Traditional Camp. PODS Swim lessons take place each day for campers in both programs. Wheeler Summer’s philosophy is about giving campers an opportunity to be active in an outdoor environment, explore new things, have fun, build confidence, and make long lasting friendships!

Our Young Actors Summer Institute (YASI) is the best place for a summer full of theater for all ages! In addition to the full YASI program (grades 5-graduated seniors), additional programs include YASI Jr. (grades 1 – 4), YASI Players (grades 5 – 9), YASI Shakes (grades 10 – 12), and YASI Masters (high school and college students). For one month, students ages 10 to 18 choose from a variety of electives, including playwriting, musical theater, improvisation, Shakespeare, stage combat and more. Taught by Trinity Rep’s acting company, education staff, Brown/Trinity Rep MFA students and alums, and local working artists, YASI culminates in two public performances on the Trinity Rep stage.

• Grades K - 12+ welcome

• Hours vary, main program is 9 am - 5 pm. Extended day is available for main program.
