The Story of Yee
This humble story begins in the vast Gnomish city of Renkinton in a time long long ago.
Renkinton was bustling with miners, tinkers, chefs, and fisherman alike, and everyone got along
happily. This is the part of the story that is a tad bit vague. In the jumbled up memories and
notebooks of our protagonist lies only a few sentences about his parents. They are as follows:
“Date: Long, Long ago
I do not recall much of my parents as they only took part in a small portion of my life. My father
was or is a tinker, and my mother runs a small orphanage. After my father taught me the ways of
tinkering, I ventured off on my own to start my own company,”
Before the age of five, Yee had nearly mastered (in his words) the art of tinkering, and was
among the most talented in the city.
Upon further investigations from the ruins of Renkinton, more information has been
gathered about the parents of the Bloodsail Admiral. Both of his parents were killed in the plague
along with the rest of the dead and decrepit gnomes of the city. There wasn’t much that could be
done to find information about his parents, but a few things were found among the corpses.
Among checking around Yee’s parents, it has been discovered that not only was his father a
famed tinker, but he ended up being the refuted king of Renkinton High Tinker Lugstrom
Shimmerlock. With him was a small paper with words as follows:
“For the day I die…
My son… my only heir… If or when you find this… I don’t have much time. The city has fallen
plague to disease and death. Your mother has been working herself nearly to death with caring
~ 2 ~
for the plagued children at the orphanage… but the plague surpasses no one, and she has fallen
prey. It has brought me to tears seeing her decay and die… the only love of my life. Enough
about this humble jumble.. there is no time.. the city is yours. Your uncle, the king, has been
killed by the plague, and has left Renkinton to me, and it is only logical to leave it to you. The key
has been left in a small brass box in the storage chest in your boat. I know you aren’t a gnome
anymore… but the fate of the city depends on you…”
The rest of the text is written in an ancient language no longer spoken or understood.
“Leib abb de gonn… de jordrukat abb kurs leibz haunnd…”
Parts of the letter are scribbled out and some are illegible. This letter has been brought to and
ready to Yee, and he quickly grabbed it and shoved it away in his armor. Nothing more has been
said on that subject since it was read to him.
Yee’s education has been minor in some parts, but thorough and detailed in others. When
living in Renkinton, Yee received a general education from the gnomish schools provided in the
city. This education was very minor, but taught reading, writing, math, and gnomish, dwarven,
human, and elven history. His father taught him many necessary skills as a tinker, and how to run
a business. Experience in the field of running his own business taught him many life lessons and
skills as Yee became an adult. Through his adventures, Yee learned many skills, but forgot
others.
As a young adult, Yee took on many projects that seemed impossible to many, but
because of his high intelligence, many of them worked. Some of these included a time machine
(only worked between days and weeks, no longer, and wasn’t very accurate), numerous clocks
for the city, weapons, bombs, a robot butler, and dozens of robotic animals that he took up as
~ 3 ~
pets. As time went on, things got boring, and he decided to take upon a task that many wouldn’t,
and many didn’t understand at all: to build an inter-dimensional wormhole portal. Years went by
as Yee spent much of his savings on it.
After twelve years, and tens of thousands of gold, it had been finished. The portal was
finished. The city or Renkinton was amazed, and Yee became famous. Nobody knew in fact if it
worked or not, but because Yee had already made so many famed inventions, most of the
gnomes assumed that it worked. He was dying to try it out. In his cellar, the machine sat for a
few months, collecting dust, until Yee was ready to test it. By himself one dreadful night, Yee set
the dials and started up the machine. He was shaking as he flipped the switch and stepped inside.
His tiny gnomish stature was rifled with fear as it began to whir and as the gears revved up
inside. A giant flash of light lit up the
room and Yee felt like he never had
before. As he stepped out, he looked
at himself in confusion and awe. No
longer was Yee his tiny self, but he
had been transformed by a faulty
circuit in the portal. He was short,
more muscular than he had ever been,
and had a beard like none he had ever
seen before. An artist’s rendition of
what he looked like after the
transformation:
~ 4 ~
A number of months after the transformation, Yee made the conscious decision to move
to a small Dwarven town to adopt some of the cultural, physical, and occupational standards of
his newfound race. Among these were the talents of a paladin. Fighting in the name of the law,
worshipping a multitude of divine beings including but not limited to Heironeous, Pelor, and
Obad-Hai, and learning the holy protection, healing, and fighting techniques were only a few of
the many new inquiries provided to him. The town in which Yee learned the majority of these
was the small village of Dunbar.
Dunbar was a Dwarven village of only ~100 Dwarves and ~25 Gnomes. The town was
secure in a snowy valley nestled in the midst of a massive rocky mountain range in the North. It
was Dunbar where Yee learned to brave the snowy elements, climb mountains, survive in the
snowy woods, gather a sufficient amount of food and water out of the natural surroundings, and
the knowledge of creating an adequate lodging to spend the night. While living here, Yee built
his own stone and log home in the midst of the village. This town was the home to four members
of the Dwarven Guild of Fine Weaponry and Armour crafting, making the town an export of the
finest metal-works in the surrounding area. Although an exclusive town being dwarfed by it’s
somewhat neighboring Aldorn, Dunbar became widely known for its fine metal-works
throughout the continent. These four blacksmiths remain unnamed to this day, despite constant
effort to discover their names. One of the blacksmiths took Yee in as an apprentice until he had
fully mastered the craft. Yee spent the next several years working as a blacksmith in Dunbar
until his time had come to say farewell to his friends and acquaintances and move on with his
life.
From the time Yee spent studying in Dunbar’s library and worshipping at temples, he
adopted the role of a paladin fighting for the law with righteousness and the power of the light in
~ 5 ~
the city of Lunas and kept this role for six years until his final quest. This part of the transcript is
written in golden ink and appears to have a faint glowing aura surrounding it. It is written in
perfectly formed calligraphy by what experts say must have been scribed by an artisan and is a
document to the king of Lunas.
“King Valonius,
At this time, Lightbringer Yee will embark on a dangerous trek into the fiery depths of the
underworld to retrieve information regarding the whereabouts of your son. If he is able
to survive the journey and recover the information, he shall be rewarded with forty-
thousand gold pieces and the shield of Lunas. Our prayers are with him.

" ڷحې
The signature is illegible. Researchers believe that by some power unknown, Yee descended into
the depths of the underworld only to return with grave information. Another document was
found with the same typeface and author.
“King Valonius,
I regret to inform you that our lightbringer has returned safely, but with grave
information. You son has been slain by a horde of hellreavers. Yee is severely wounded
and has a large gash upon his right arm above his shield. The royal clerics are doing
what they can in order to ensure his wellbeing. His recompense will be given to him when
he heals. I am remorseful about the passing of your son. A memorial will be arranged in
chapel in the next fortnight.

Yee was nursed back to fighting strength in the following month and was rewarded with his
promised forty-thousand gold pieces and the shield. However, the gold was looted from his
dwelling when the city of Lunas was attacked. The location of the shield is still unknown. During
the attack, Yee was hit severely hard on the head by a fallen chunk of bronze off of the temple as
he was running by.
He awoke in a daze, unable to heal himself with his paladin spells. Upon further
investigation, he no longer could perform any of the tasks paladins could, and he felt strange. His
lawfulness had dissipated, and his paladin talents had been replaced by that of a barbarian. When
he tried to write in his journal, he was unable to remember how to read and write. He picked up
his belongings still salvageable, and left the rubble left of the city Lunas.
Yee traveled back to his hometown of Renkinton to converse with his father, who gave
him his own Dwarven axe to use in the future. He said farewell to his parents and headed out into
the wilderness.
After what is estimated to be about half a decade of living in the wilderness, Yee had
traveled over five thousand kilometers. He ended up in a small coastal village riddled with
pirates. The town was later discovered to be the Bloodsail Buccaneer Pirates’ port of Low Cross
Bay. Because of his rugged appearance and stocky build, Yee fit in very well with the
buccaneers. He spent the next year training with the pirates, befriending them, and adopting a
number of their traditions. When the time had come, Yee joined his fellow pirates on a voyage
out to sea on a boat that had earned the name “The Drunken Pillager”. Despite the name, Not one
~ 7 ~
of the drivers of the ship had ever made the mistake of drinking ale while captaining or driving
the ship.
On the ship, Yee had the pleasure of raiding dozens of other boats and gaining thousands
upon thousands of gold pieces. “The Drunken Pillager” had made a name for itself along with
the Bloodsail Buccaneers after the damage that they had done to other ships throughout the
ocean. However, during one of their raids, the leader of the Bloodsail Buccaneers Captain John
Silver, who had become quite accustomed to his good friend Yee, was hit by a ricochet
cannonball and significantly injured. While on his deathbed in the cabin, he transferred the title
of Bloodsail Buccaneer and captain of “The Drunken Pillager” to Yee. While aboard the Pillager,
Yee had learned a number of talents only pirates would normally hold. He had learned to hold
his breath underwater for minutes at a time in full armour, drive a ship, fish, and hold himself in
a respectable manor under obscene amounts of alcohol. During the voyage, Yee befriended a
small magical squid he found one day while diving, and he captured it in a small bottle. To this
day, Yee carries around the same squid in a bottle and takes it out every once in a while. The
squid has a faint glow to it, and there seems something extra-terrestrial about it. Experts are still
unsure of the magic within the squid.
Yee docked the ship six months later in the town of Freeport, and he quickly sold “The
Drunken Pillager” to an eager young Captain named Edward Teach (later to be nicknamed
BlackBeard). Before selling the ship, Yee removed the locks and key from the ship and hid them
away safely. With the newly acquired gold from selling the ship and the gold left over from
pirating, Yee invested in building a small seafood restaurant named after and dedicated to his old
Captain he so much adored. At “John Silver’s”, Yee learned and mastered the art of cooking and
adopted the title of Chef. However, due to poor attendance to the restaurant and lack of money,
~ 8 ~
Yee was forced to sell it to a young entrepreneur, who kept the majority of dishes created by Yee
and later changed the name to “Long John Silver’s”.
Yee spent the remaining of his gold from selling the restaurant and commissioned some
shipbuilders in Freeport to build a ship using the locks left over from “The Drunken Pillager”.
The ship was finished quickly, and it was named “The Pink Lady”. Yee hopped aboard the ship
by himself, and headed out to sea to become a fisherman. He spent the next decade as a
fisherman, fishing in the morning and heading back to Freeport to sell his catches in the
afternoon. After the time out on the sea, Yee adopted a new title of “Fisherman”.
One day while out on the ocean in his ship, Yee discovered a bulky young man floating
on a rickety makeshift boat by the name of Ololol. They spent the following week fishing
together on the boat, until Yee brought him to Freeport. The two of them remain best friends to
this day.
Here is where this part of the story ends. This isn’t the final end of Yee’s story, for he is
constantly adventuring throughout the lands. Currently, he and Ololol are on a quest with a small
adventuring party they befriended called the “Diplomats”, and there is currently no end in sight.
Our hopes and prayers are with him and his company as their quest continues.
