Page 52: The Story of Caribbean Society 3.0

Conclusion

• CSIDS 3.0 must develop a vision and long-term master plan based on the following trends:– ICT is the leading technology;– Attracting a creative class is

essential;– Local agriculture will be vital;– It is about sustainability.– 100% Internet acces

Page 53: The Story of Caribbean Society 3.0

The message

• These SIDS should cooperate more in the area of education and to solve energy issues by embracing green energy and the conservation of ecosystems.

• They should create a network of university and research institutes to create knowledge.

• They should reverse the Diaspora. • Create funds to invest in Small and

Medium Enterprises (SME). They should create a venture capital fund and business incubators to invite investors. CARICOM should play a more active role.

Page 54: The Story of Caribbean Society 3.0

• The message is to cooperate and not compete. Include not exclude. To not reinvent the wheel but learn from each other. It is about a new mindset 3.0. All this is enabled by ICT. Create a practical master plan and implement like crazy.

Page 55: The Story of Caribbean Society 3.0

Mindset 3.0

• 3.0 is ICT driven but not only about technology. It is also about a mindset.
