The Arab Spring of 2011 ignited not just Egypt’s society andpolitical landscape, but also its new startup ecosystem.Consider this: Prior to 2011, no-one in Egypt had ever heardof AngelList. In that year, only three companies ended upcreating a profile under Angel.co/Egypt.

THE VIRAL FEVER 2012-2014As the country went through further convulsion in 2012, thatfigure jumped to 21. But through 2013 that figure jumped to47, and a further 48 appeared in 2014. What these previouslyunlighted raw numbers show is that the Egyptianentrepreneurial scene started to explode since 2012.

The Startup Unicorns Project (SUP) is a global, certified, sixweeks, unpaid, professional internships for internationals inEgypt's top startups.SUP is an exclusive partnership between AIESEC AUC and thetop startup incubators in Egypt.This partnership was born out of our common belief in thepower the Egyptian startups have in changing the world. Notjust the few ''startup unicorns'' we read about in theheadlines because their valuation happened to skyrocket andhit the $1 billion. No, we're talking about all the great ideas,each one of them championed by an individual willing to putthe rest of his life on hold in the hopes of making the world abetter place. We are talking about the millions of startupsthat, in the right environment, can change to unicorns of theirown.

5. CertificationAfter your 6 weeks internship in SUP, you will not only have aglorious tan from our beaches, but you will also have twoofficial certificates (from SUP and your start up) that you canpoint future employees to and say ''check me out, I was oneof the greatest SUP interns EVER''

Ideally, you will have the following qualities: Graduate or undergraduate (Juniors and Seniors

preferably) A business background is nice to have, a marketing

concentration is even better Previous record of professional internships/ extracurricular

activities is an asset Fluent in English Can financially support yourself for 6 weeks since it is an

unpaid internship (Egypt is pretty pretty cheap no worries!$400-$500 can solidly cover your basic needs for thewhole stay)

Your parents won't mind you disappearing for 6 weeks Find excitement in unpredictability and knows how to
