� The St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation (SLSMC) was established in 1998 as a not-for-profit corporation, succeeding the St. Lawrence Seaway Authority (a crown corporation created in 1954, made responsible for both the Montreal Lake Ontario Section and the Welland Canal Section)
� In accordance with
the Canada Marine Act,the SLSMC managesand operates theCanadian assetsof the Seaway forthe Governmentof Canada
