Dedicated to the encouragement in acquiring, restoring, preserving

and exhibiting the Model “A” Ford, and to enjoy the fellowship of other Model “A” Ford owners

    around the world.

The Spokesman is a publication of the

Highland Indiana Region of the Model “A” Restorer’s Club, Inc.,

founded in 1964, and is published monthly.

    National dues are $45.00.

Local HIR dues are $10.00. National Membership is required.

Business meetings are held on the first Wednesday of every

month at 7:00 p.m. at the McKinley Masonic Lodge in

    Schererville, Indiana.

This month’s meeting is Wednesday, October 2, at 7:00 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge in Schererville. Thank you to the Foleys, DeJongs and Javorkas for volun-teering to bring the evening’s refreshments.

This month I am not going to look back and reflect on September. Those of you that participated in Model A Day and other events had a great time. The rest of you, c'est la vie.

I have been working feverishly on preparing trip instructions for the fall tour and the Membership Meet. The Membership Meet registration form is done and on the way to the printer. That was a big hurdle to overcome.

The fall tour is going to include a Ghost Walk at the Marshall

County Historical Museum. 3 floors of fright! There will be areas where the "dead: will be there, in period

clothing. They will explain some history and tragedies of their time period. There is an elevator to use if needed. Cost is $10/person. If you plan on attending we will collect this at the October meeting. Tickets are limited. We need to reserve early. The rest of our trip will include a tour of a jail in Warsaw, antiquing, shopping and of course eating. The most important thing is the chance to fellowship with each other and the trip.

  • EDITOR’S CORNER

My apologies for the abbreviated version and for excluding the busi-ness portion of the newsletter. It has been a month of highs and lows for our family, as we lost Linda Brown just days before her 69

    th birthday.

She fought a tough fight with grace, optimism, and with faith. Linda was a beautiful person inside and out, and we take comfort knowing she is at peace.

On the high note, we just celebrated the nuptials of our daughter Bobbi and it’s been nonstop busy… not just for us but for her grandfather/Officiant, Russell Smiddy, who made his granddaughter’s wedding completely memorable, eloquent and funny all at the same time! Great job, Puttz!

Speaking of fun, can’t wait for the Fall Tour! Did you book your room??
