A solar system for your home

Dear Nickname

Jon Cowdrill

0800 0542 977 www.jojusolar.co.uk [email protected]

Thank you for contacting us to request a quote for a solar PV installation for your home.

At Joju Solar we understand that choosing your solar PV system and installer is an important decision so I’ve put together a detailed estimate and proposal for your roof based on our remote survey and the information you have given me. I hope that this answers your questions but if you would like any more information at all, then please don't hesitate to call or email me. My details are below.

If you would like to go to the next stage, then please contact me and I will arrange to carry out a Technical Site Visit at no cost to you.

Yours sincerely,

Our design philosophy

0800 0542 977 www.jojusolar.co.uk [email protected]

Every one of our installations is designed individually to suit your property and your budget.

Our design philosophy means that we only use high-quality and proven equipment selected in each case by our trained designers and installed by our own experienced installers.

We also carry out a detailed shading and orientation analysis of your property.

In designing this system we have carefully matched your inverter to the panels chosen. This maximises the amount of energy that your system will generate and is an important part of our design. We use high quality components throughout your system to help you get the best possible return.

If you would like to understand more about this choice or about any other aspect of our system design then please feel free to ask.

We never forget that this is your system.

The amount of energy that your system should produce is measured in kilowatt hours (kWh).

1 kWh is the same as 1 unit on your electricity bill.

The amount that your system generates is critical as it determines the amount you earn from the FIT.The average home uses 3,330 kWh per year on lights and appliances.(Source Ofgem 2011)

The performance of solar PV systems is impossible to predict with certainty due to the variabilityin the amount of solar radiation (sunlight) from location to location and from year to year. Thisestimate is based upon the standard MCS procedure is given as guidance only. It should not beconsidered as a guarantee of performance.

This is modelled on a remote survey and is based on the level of solar radiation (sunlight) in your particular post-code area adjusted by the following factors:

- Orientation, (Direction) of your roof- Size of your system,in kWp- Pitch of the Roof- Detailed Shading Analysis undertaken using the standard MCS procedure - it is estimated that this method will yield results within 10% of the actual annual energy yield for most systems

Using this Government approved methodology your system is estimated to produce 6549 kWh per year.

Actual performance may be significantly lower or higher if the characteristics of the installed system vary from the estimated values.

We will carry out a full site survey before installation commences. If this survey results in a lower performance estimate than in this quote, then we will issue you with a new

Additionally where data has been estimated or taken remotely (clause 3.7.1):“This system performance calculation has been undertaken using estimated values for arrayorientation, inclination or shading. Actual performance may be significantly lower or higher if thecharacteristics of the installed system vary from the estimated values.”Additionally where the shade factor is less than 1 (clause 3.7.7):“This shade assessment has been undertaken using the standard MCS procedure - it is estimatedthat this method will yield results within 10% of the actual annual energy yield for most systems.”

We have used the numbers below to calculate your yearly generation. Please ask if you would like us to talk it through with you.

How does the money work?

The Feed in Tariff

For all electricity you generate you will get paid the feed-in-tariff (FIT). Despite its confusing name this is simply a 'clean energy cashback' mechanism designed by the Government to reward people like you who invest in renewable energy.

Remember, you get paid for every unit you produce even if you use the electricity yourself.

This payment is Inflation-linked and so will keep its value over time. You claim the FIT payment directfrom the electricity company. We hope that you enjoy sending your electricity company a bill for a change!

You also get paid an additional 4.85p bonus for every unit of electricity that you export (this is ‘assumed’ to be 50% of all the electricity you produce).

Savings on my bills

Any electricity from your panels that you use yourself is a saving because you don't have to buy it from your supplier. Get used to smaller bills! How much you save depends on the cost of electricity - now and in the future. As electricity prices go up - your savings get bigger.

At typical residential prices, every unit you use yourself will save you 15p. In estimating your financial benefits we use that number.

An installation of this size will be paid 4.25 pence per unit of electricity that your system generates.

What are the financial returns from my system?

The estimates in this quote are based on the estimated generation for your solar system and on assumed levels of inflation and electricity price rises. We have assumed average inflation of 3% and annual electricity price rises of 2.9%. We believe those assumptions are conservative. As with any estimate of this type the precise returns are impossible to predict with certainty due to the variability in the amount of solar radiation from year to year. If you would like to know more about how we make these estimates please ask.

Another way to look at this is to see it as equivalent to an investment earning 12.3% per year. We know that different people measure their investment rates differently but we think that is a fair and helpful comparison.

On the basis of the above figures your system should pay for itself in 8.86 years, and any income after that time is surplus.

The Solar World mono-crystalline photovoltaic 285W panel comes with an attractive all

black design giving a appealing uniformed view especially when paired with black mounting

clips. These robust and durable modules can maintain a consistent output and can

withstand build-ups of snow and ice.

Solar World panels are produced in Germany and are therefore exempt from any EU anti-

To minimise the effect of shading and significantly improve the performance we have

configured the system with Solar Edge optimisers. Optimisers reduce the impact of shading

allowing each module to operate as individual unit. This means no one panel is adversely

affecting the other and each is performing to its optimum ability.

What happens next?

If you like this quote then please call or email me and I will arrange to carry out a Technical Site Survey.

When I visit I will check that your roof is structurally sound, make sureI understand your current electrical system and that we are fully familiar with the property before we arrange to carry out any installation.

The survey allows you to meet me face to face and ask me any questions that you might have.

If you decide to go ahead then we will agree a date with you to carry out the installation. We will keep you informed at every step of the way and ensure that you understand what is happening. I will always be on hand to answer your questions.
