This conference hosts over 180 delegates from 19 counties and 182 presentations. This conference is being held in a beautiful part of the world and you ought to try to get a good look at the local sights and tastes while you are here.

RACI COLLOID AND SURFACE SCIENCE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The RACI Colloid and Surface Science Division Annual General Meeting will be held from 3:05pm to 4:00pm in the Theatrette on Wednesday 6 February. All RACI members are encouraged to attend this RACI-members-only event.

ORAL PRESENTERS

Presenters should have emailed their presentations to the Symposium Secretariat in advance of the Symposium. The presentations will be pre-loaded onto the notebooks in advance of the sessions. Presenters should ensure that their Power-Point presentation is loaded and operating NO LATER than 10am the day before their presentation (unless they are presenting Monday). Late PowerPoint presentations should be loaded at the registration desk on Sunday 3 February between 3pm and 5pm, or on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday between 8am and 10am. Please bring your presentation on a USB drive and have a back-up. If you prefer to use a MAC or have specifically installed software on your notebook, please supply your own MAC/adaptor or notebook and set this up in the break before your presentation, please also notify the team at the registration desk.

POSTER PRESENTERS

There are two poster sessions: Monday 4 February between 1.15pm and 2.00pm and Tuesday 5 February between 1.25pm and 2.10pm. All posters should be placed on the marked poster board before 8.30am on Monday morning, and removed before

the completion of lunch on Wednesday afternoon. Poster presenters coded PP001 to PP028 will present on Monday and those coded PP050 to PP076 will present on Tuesday.

ACIS is awarding a best poster prize to encourage participation and to recognize excellence. The recipient will be determined on the basis of the scientific content and quality of presentation. The prize, an iPad, sponsored by Nanotechnology Systems will be presented during the Symposium Dinner on Wednesday.

CATERING

Full registration includes attendance at the Welcome Mixer on Sunday evening, networking drinks on Monday evening, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea Monday to Thursday.

SOCIAL EVENTS

The Welcome Mixer on Sunday is at Noosa Heads Surf Life Saving Club, commencing at 5.30pm. The Surf Club is on the main beach and is approximately a 10 minute walk along Alma Way & Morwong Drive. The Mixer is included in a full registration.

ACIS NETWORKING DRINKS, 6.00PM – 7.00PM, MONDAY 4 FEBRUARY

Networking Drinks on Monday evening will be held in the Exhibition Foyer at the Outrigger. The networking event is included in a full registration.

ACIS SYMPOSIUM DINNER, 7.30PM – 11.30PM, WEDNESDAY 6 FEBRUARY

The ACIS 2013 Dinner has a Retro Surfer theme. You’re welcome to come in your retro surf best, board shorts, tropical dresses and shirts welcome! Please note shoes are required! We will be entertained by a Beach Boys tribute band. The Symposium Dinner is an optional event; tickets are available at a subsidised cost of $80 for full delegates and $105 for exhibitors, day delegates and guests. Tickets can be purchased at the registration desk.

Smoking - The conference and social functions are non-smoking. The Outrigger is a non smoking venue - no rooms are designated smoking rooms however guests are allowed to smoke in the outdoor area behind the main conference room and exhibition area.

Taxis - Call 131 008 for a Noosa taxi. Taxis stand by the police station near the roundabout on Hastings Street, at Noosa Fair Shopping Centre near Coles supermar-ket at Noosa Junction and at Woolworths in Gibson Road and can be called 24hrs.
