Dear Siesta Bay, After being in the audience of Sunday night’s perfor-mance of Showtimers, I would like to say what a great show it was. Brenda Peters is to be congratulated for drafting the talent to be in the show. The skits were good and the “mystery” guests near the end of the show added a lot of laughs. The sound system at times did not allow the sell-out crowd to enjoy the acts on the stage, but nothing is perfect. Shuffleboard News The 2019 Siesta Bay Singles Shuffleboard Tournament went off without a hitch on Wednesday, March 13th, with 29 players starting the double elimination tournament. Shooting some fantastic scores it took until afternoon to get down to the final games. After 6 games it came down to 3 play-ers left, Joel Renauer with 1 loss, Rance Armstrong with 1 loss and Dick Muhn with 0 losses. In game 7 Dick Muhn went up against Joel Renauer with Rance Armstrong getting the bye. Joel got the victory by 7 points. Game 8 found Rance and Joel going head to head with Dick getting the bye. Rance ran away with that game giving Joel a 3rd place finish for the tournament. Game 9 found Dick and Rance going at it for 1st an 2nd place. The game could have gone either way right down to the last frame. The score ended up 28 to 47 with Dick Muhn in first place and Rance Armstrong in sec-ond. Thanks to all the players and spectators that stayed to cheer on the finalist and a big thanks to the Activities Office for the cold drinks and to the setup guys for getting things ready that morning.
