The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People Workshop Evaluation Summary Date: 8 th August 2014 1. Some of the things I have learnt from today’s workshop are: To listen more. Empathic listening not to answer/try to solve but clarify instead. To be self-aware and take time before reacting. To listen more empathically. To take time-out for myself to ‘sharpen the saw’. Self-awareness. Listening to people. I am not the only one with ‘issues and to be strong enough to say ‘no’. How the 7 Habits can help me become a more effective leader, manager and person in general. Think before I react. Listen. Plan. Follow through. I have loved everything about today. Very inspirational. The importance of having a vision/end goal. That I love a choice / to act / and not react in situations. Time to reflect, further self-awareness. Focus on what is important to me. Refreshed my knowledge of 7 Habits. Some fantastic video clips which reinforced my learning from previously. There is more than one map of the world. Connections between previous learning, tools and courses to reinforce ideas. Have already embedded in my life. For good or bad, I make my own choices and I can change things. Insight and understanding of 7 habits. All the 7 habits. I have the work book - this day has helped me know how to put it into practice. 2. The most important thing I have learnt about myself is: The importance of empathic listening. To know that I have a choice. How I behave with others and how to improve this. I am not the only one with ‘issues’ and I need to be a more ‘active listener’. I also need to delegate more. That I do perform some of the 7 Habits effectively and that I can work on other ways of improving. How my behaviour impacts on others. Sharpening my saw more. I dont listen as well as I thought I did! I need to sharpen my saw. …together we can find the difference that makes the difference!

time-out for myself to ‘sharpen the saw’.

Self-awareness. Listening to people.

I am not the only one with ‘issues and to be strong enough to say ‘no’.

How the 7 Habits can help me become a more effective leader, manager and person in

To ask for and accept some help. To look after myself more.

There are still things I don’t do and should.

I am able to quite effectively ‘choose’ what I want!

That I need to be much clearer about where I really want to go in my life. I need to

take responsibility for my choices.

Take care of myself. Empathic listening.

I need to listen more. Reflect what’s said, not tell my story.

3. My principal actions from today’s workshop are:

To listen, then once they have finished and I’ve clarified, then make informed

conversation to solve.

To listen to patients and staff. To encourage my team to contribute and quote ‘none

of us is as smart as all of us’.

Empowering others as well as myself.

Look at work/life balance. Don’t rush to complete my daily ‘to do’ list - look at what is

important and what is not.

To use the 7 Habits to enable me to deal with certain situations at work.

To be more self-aware.

To listen more.

Identify my end goal for my team.

To revisit and address my habits!!

Go away and re-evaluate my priorities and action.

Share the learning with the team and invite Ian to Mansfield.

Listening and not trying to ‘fix’. Encouraging others to fix themselves.

Re-evaluate my life. Change my habits. Take back control.

Include team more and do not think I can achieve everything. Empathic learning -

develop skills. Win/Win principle.

Apply at work. 4. The workshop could have been improved if:
