Scripture 1 Peter 3:13-22 (NKJV) 13 And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good? 14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.” 15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; 16 having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. 17 For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. 18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, 19 by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, 20 who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. 21 There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to Him. CMC Bulletin Board 50th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY RECEPTION - The congregation is invited to a reception TODAY from 2:00 – 4:00 PM in the Fellowship Building in honor of Doug and Angie Conrad’s 50th wedding anniversary. MARVELOUS MORAVIANS STEERING COMMITTEE – The Steering Committee will meet on Monday, May 22, at 10 AM in the Church Office. GRADUATE RECOGNITION – On June 18, we will recognize members of our church who are graduating from high school or college. Please let us know of members of our church graduating in 2017 by notifying the church office at 336-722-2007. Deadline for submissions is May 28. WINSTON-SALEM DASH BALLGAME - The CE Committee is sponsoring an outing to a Winston-Salem Dash baseball game at 2 PM on Sunday, June 11th. There will be a Youth Lunch (hot dogs and hamburgers) that day after church followed by the baseball game. We will use the van to run shuttle service from the church to the ballpark for anyone who does not want to drive. Tickets are $11. There is a sign-up sheet on the CHURCH FAMILY LIFE Bulletin Board at the church. As an added bonus, the Grateful Choir will be performing the National Anthem before the ballgame. If you are paying by check, make the check out to Christ Moravian Church and on the memo line write June 11 Ballgame. MISSION AWARENESS DINNER - The Mission Society invites you to their provincial Mission Awareness Dinner on Sunday, June 4 at Fairview Moravian Church. The meal (cost of $10) begins at 6:00 PM, and includes a presentation from an adult mission team that recently traveled to Peru. Reservations are needed by May 30, sent to [email protected] or 336-773-1732. YOUTH CAR WASH – The Youth at Christ Moravian Church are sponsoring a car wash to raise money to help pay their expenses for camp this summer at Laurel Ridge Camp. Enjoy a sausage biscuit from 9:00 am – 11:00 am and a hot dog from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm while your car is being washed. Proceeds from the food will also go to the Youth for camp. Winston-Salem COST: There is not a set cost for the car wash, instead donations will be
