The seasons of the year

TOPIC: The seasons.

TIMING: The first week of December.

Length: 50 minutes.

Year: 6.

The main purpose of this session is to approach our students to the new technologies by one expecific subject ( The seasons of the year).

By means of this session they are going to practice the four main skills: Reading, Writing, listening and speaking.

Before start ….

We are going to divide the classroom in four different groups.

Since, they are going to work in one specific season of the year.

All the activities that we are going to develop, they have to be in group in order to get them use to work in teams.

GROUP 1 : WINTER.

Step by step….

1. They are going to read the text which belongs to “winter”.

2. They have to summarise the test in just one paragraph using their own words.

3. To make it easier they can follow some questions…

- What and when is winter?

- Who is Santa?

- What is the weather like in winter?

- Why is 31st December an important date?

GROUP 1: WINTER.

4. Once they have done the first activity. They are going to prepare the speech during 10 minutes.

5. When they are ready they have to record themselves.

NOTE: - If is necessary they can check more information on

internet.- They will record themselves with a camera.- The video will be upload in our Blog.

GROUP 2: SPRING.

Step by step….

1. They are going to read the text which belongs to “spring”.

2. They have to summarise the test in just one paragraph using their own words.

3. To make it easier they can follow some questions…

- What and when is spring?

- What happen with the flowers in spring?

- What is the weather like?

Group 2: SPRING.

4. Once they have done the first activity. They are going to prepare the speech during 10 minutes.

5. When they are ready they have to record themselves.

NOTE: - If is necessary they can check more information on

internet.- They will record themselves with a camera.- The video will be upload in our Blog.

GROUP 3: SUMMER.

Step by step….

1. They are going to read the text which belongs to “spring”.

2. They have to summarise the test in just one paragraph using their own words.

- What and when is summer?

- Tell us something about San Juan´s night.

- What is the weather like?

GROUP 3: SUMMER.

GROUP 4: AUTUMN.
