JUNE 2006 The Scorecard A Newsletter for the Members of The Jeremy Golf and Country Club MESSAGE FRON THE PRESIDENT After a harsh winter that seemed like it would never end and forced a two week delay in our opening, May smiled on us like never before. Unsea- sonably warm temperatures brought out our members in droves, and we had record play on the course and use of the restaurant facilities. 235 people took advantage of the wonderful Mothers day brunch, and our Thursday – Saturday seating have been well above average. Kudos go out to Ryan, Chef, and their staff for a job well done. Also, I would like to wel- come Ed Huntsman who has just come on board as the new Restaurant Manager, and I am sure that he will be a great addition the Ryan’s staff. WELCOME ED! The warm weather has also allowed the course to heal quickly from the long winter, and the course is well ahead of schedule and should be in mid- summer form by early June. Tom Rhoades and his crew have done a fantas- tic job in spite of the late start. Memorial Day weekend will find the Club gearing up for full operation. Lunch and dinner will be served Tuesday – Sunday, with breakfast also be- ing served Saturday and Sunday through the end of the Season. June will also find the golf activities in full swing. June 6 th and June 7th the JLA will have their Guest Day Best Ball and Scramble, and June 9 th will be the first Mini Member Guest. Don’t forget to sign up for these events. The Men’s Tuesday Night League will be in full swing. June 18 th will bring the Annual Father’s Day tournament with an 8:30 AM shotgun start. Lunch is included with this fun event. On June 23 rd , we will have our first big social event of the summer season, The Spring Dance. It was a little late coming, but the wait was worth it. The combination of recent beautiful weather along with great early season conditions has made for some great golf.

Starting last season we asked each member and their families to adopt two consecutive golf holes, as as-signed below, that they will nurture as if they were their own backyard. As you are waiting to play the hole, please fill in divots on the tee box and out in the fairway where you stand, pick up debris and de-posit it in trash cans or secure it in your cart, repair as many ball marks on the greens as you can, keep-ing in mind pace of play. All of these practices should be done while waiting to play your next shot. They are not intended in any way to slow down play. There will be several members assigned to the same holes. Many hands helping in this way will make a significant difference in the appearance and condition of each hole.

As a reminder to those that have forgotten their holes and for our new members, below are your “adopted” holes.

Hole # Last Name Hole # Last Name 1 & 2 A - B 11 & 12 M – N 3 & 4 C 13 & 14 O – R 5 & 6 D - F 15 & 16 S 7 & 8 G - I 17 & 18 T - Z 9 & 10 J & L

June is almost here, and the weather is absolutely awesome. I am writing this on May 16th so you know what I mean. Everyone should be thinking golf, golf, golf!

The golf shop is fully stocked. Come in and see all of the new items that Heidi has brought in for the season. We also have the latest and greatest clubs and hard goods to choose from.

We recently hosted our ABCD Icebreaker Tournament on May 13th. The winning team was Mike Re-ske, Mark Pennels, Ryan Jones and Kaye Jorgensen, with a score of 60. The second place winners were Robert Raymond, Don Pettigrew, Kevin Brown, and Nancy Gilbert, with a score of 61.

Congratulations to Dan Alfieri who got a hole in one at Park City Municipal course on April 29, 2006, on Hole #8. With his 4 Iron from 195 yards. Way to go Dan!!

THE JEREMY LADIES ASSOCIATION JUNE 2006

Hello to all of our JLA Members! We were excited to begin league play in May and hope that more ladies will join us in June. We look forward to seeing all of you out on our beautiful course. Remember you are welcome to play in both leagues. Our only rule is that if you play in both leagues one particular week you are only qualified to win in one of the leagues for that week. Contact the golf shop to be added to the 18-hole league shotgun list or the 9-hole league tee time sheet. Also, if you are interested in joining the mentor program, contact Patty Pavey or Missy Dingman. Thank you to our social committee for a wonderful Spring Social. “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” was more than evident! The deco-rations were festive, the food was fabulous, and the fashion show was fun. Thank you to all who organized and to all who came and joined us. Our Board Meetings take place the third Thursday of every month at 5:30 pm. All members are welcomed to attend and/or to sub-mit ideas and suggestions to Jan and I. We invite your input and help. We look forward to catching up with old friends and making new ones as our golf season begins. Don’t forget that Bridge is con-tinuing as well, on the first and third Monday of every month Happy Ball Striking! Karrie Jarratt and Jan Stephenson JLA Co-Presidents
