The term

“Balanced on Schenck” is famous worldwideas a synonym for the best balancing quality.

WHY SCHENCK?

Indian companies thatexport their products willtherefore benefit from thisquality statement, and be more competitive.

2

World-wide balancing for critical applications such as

Jet Engines, Power Turbines and Satellites are performed only on Schenck machines. Discerning customersdo not trust any other Balancing Machines.

Schenck Balancing Machines are remarkably and provably 4 times faster and 8 times more

accurate than competitor's machines.

Schenck quality in the field of Dynamic Balancing is recognized worldwide as the benchmark for

Balancing Machines.Schenck machines are tested in-house for conformance to customer requirements and

International Specifications such as ISO 2953.

Schenck machines last for a duration of 20- 25 years without significant maintenance.

Schenck machines therefore bear a relatively low cost of maintenance and a lower cost per piece

balanced.

Our unmatchable machines are renowned for being the most robust world-wide as compared withother balancing machines. As most of our bought-out components are standard and branded, itenables our customers to maintain their machines effortlessly and independently. The use of standard

bought out components ensures that machines are durable for a remarkable number of years withoutrequiring any major maintenance. The Schenck machine life extends to a bare minimum of 20 years ascompared to the mere average of 5-10 years for our Indian competitors. Further more, the technicallysophisticated and trust-worthy design of the machines ensure easy accessibility for repair andmaintenance of the machine.

THE SCHENCK CUSTOMER VALUE PROPOSITION

All Schenck machines conform to International Standards laid down by ISO such as the ISO 2953.None of Schenck's Indian competitors have met these ISO standards so far. Our machines aredesigned as per DIN standard.

German Engineering at it’s best!!

TCO = Initial Price + Cost to Operate over LifetimeWe strive to provide the customer with a Value Proposition that incorporates FARR (Fast, Accurate,Reliable, Robust) concept, thereby offering our customers the optimum product experience:

Fast X A ccurate = 32 times Better Value(4 times faster) (8 times more accurate)

Reliable (High Uptime)

Robust  (Long Operarating Life)

Schenck Balancing Machines are therefore considered to have a low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)and the TCO is the lowest amongst competitors. The TCO is calculated by adding the Initial Price tothe Cost to Operate over Lifetime:

Schenck offers applications, products and solutions for every conceivable balancing problem andevery budget, that’s why we call ourselves the “SUPER MARKET for Balancing Machines”.

All our technical efforts are geared towards providing, "Measurement Solutions for CompetitiveAdvantage".

WHY 'SCHENCK' BALANCING MACHINES?

We need to measure the unbalance correctly as it's proper correction is of utmost importance, and weneed to do so as per the ISO 2953 & ISO 1940 procedure specification. Any other process used toevaluate a Balancing Machine is of dubious value, as per these international standards.

Unbalance measured inaccurately implies that it has been corrected improperly and will hence lead tonoise, vibration & premature failure of components due to dynamic loading, and thus a short servicelife.

We are the only manufacturer in India offering machines which conform to the InternationalStandards of Unbalance Measurement. Only we can balance rotors to the finest tolerancesas prescribed in ISO 1940 and achieve the highest rating of 95% Unbalance ReductionRatio (URR), when tested according to ISO 2953. These standards determine whether or not a balancing machine performs the task of measuring unbalance correctly.

This, therefore, implies that the machines offered by competitive manufacturers in India do notmeasure the unbalance accurately with repeatable results, and thus they are useless for the purpose of measuring unbalance, however cheap or low cost they may be.

BENEFITS: SCHENCK MACHINES

Some of the important benefits that thecustomer derives from Schenck machinesvis-à-vis the competition are summarized below:

CPPB (Cost Per Piece Balanced)

The Calculation is based on longer life of Schenck machines, faster  cycle time& less maintenance. This can be best analyzed on the Production Machines.

Spindle Design

The spindles for Schenck machines are designed for long life and low maintenance.

They are specially designed to withstand changes of temperature and other  environmental factors so that measurement accuracy is not affected.

Instrumentation

The Schenck machines use instrumentation which process the signals digitally.

Others use analog processing which is affected by noise and signal distortionmaking measurement accuracy an uncertain issue.

Test Compliance

The Schenck machines comply with ISO test procedure such as ISO 2953.Indian competitors are unable to meet 95% URR ISO 2953 requirement makingthe machines qualitatively inferior for measurement accuracy.

Measuring Principle for Balancing

Schenck machines are based on the Wattmetric principle which is recognized byexperts as the Measuring Principle for Balancing. Indian competitor machinesuse different principles which are not recognized by experts.

SALIENT FEATURES

1. Performance

a) Measurement uncertainty is very low, as Schenck machinesconform to ISO Standards.

b)  All Universal Horizontal Balancing Machines conform to ISO 2953 & achieve 95% URR.

c)  All Indian manufacturers of Balancing Machines do not manufacture as per stringent95% URR requirement in ISO 2953.

d) Balancing accuracy for the lightest rotor to the highest initial unbalance reduction isachievable on Schenck machines.

2. Features

a) It is possible to get new unbalance value even at standstill when the rotor  configurationis changed. This is especially useful when balancing large rotors as there is no needfor another balancing run.

b) Other special features are available on Schenck Instrumentation at the press of abutton.

3. Reliability

a) Machines are tested in-house for conformation to Purchase Order requirements& International Specifications such as ISO 2953.

b) Schenck machines last for 20-25 years without significant maintenance. Hence lowcost of maintenance and lower cost per piece balanced.

c) Schenck Instruments are designed to work under Indian Environment.

d) Pickups are used for measuring Unbalance and are one of the importantcomponents of the machine. Pickups used in Schenck machines are importedfrom Schenck Germany and are not influenced by humidity or heat.

e) You do not need to frequently recalibrate the machine.

f)  ALL electrical items conform to CE standards.

4. Conformance to Specifications

a)  All Schenck machines conform to International Standards laid down by ISO such asISO 2953.

b) No Indian competitor is able to meet these ISO standards.

c) Competitors do not mention conformance to International Standards on their productcatalogues.

d) Schenck machines are designed as per DIN standard.

e) Inbuilt safety features of   Schenck  machines as per ISO standards,  such asdampened safety hold downs and negative load bearings, heavy duty axial thrust

stop and covers over all nip points.

5. Serviceability

a)  As most bought-out components are standard and branded, customers canmaintain the machine easily by themselves. The use of standard bought outcomponents ensures that machines are durable for many years without requiringmajor maintenance. Our machine life extends to 20 years and more and that of

Indian Competitors is 5-10 years.

b) The PCB inside the measuring instruments is plug in type which can be easilyreplaced by the customer themselves.

c) Design of the machine ensures easy accessibility for repair and maintenanceof the machine.

6. Aesthetics

a) Schenck machines are painted with PU paint which is attractive and long lasting.

b)  All components which are not painted are either black oxide or plated to achievebetter surface finish and quality appearance.

c)  All Instruments are neatly integrated in 19" rack system

d)  All wiring including pickup wiring are placed in conduit or cable ducts to give theorganized look machine and hence keeps the area neat and clean.

7. Quality

a)  All the features mentioned above ensure that Schenck is the No.1 OE supplier.

b) Schenck RoTec India Limited has been selected as a World Wide  manufacturing base for entire Schenck Group of Companies.
