TAB CLOUD: MY NEW FAVORITE CHROME EXTENSION

My husband found this extension and said “It’s perfect for you”! He was so right (and yes, it’s in writing on my blog that my husband was “right”!!).

Tab Cloud is an “add-on” feature to Chrome that will ”save and restore window sessions over time and across multiple computers”. My husband al-ways tells me that I have too many windows/tabs open at one time, but that’s because I have what I like to call: ” Internet ADD” and am always opening new windows from things I see other people sharing online.

Tab Cloud took all of 5 seconds to install, and I created an account with my google account- and it was up an running! It had already recorded all 25 (I told you I had Internet ADD) of the tabs I have open, so if I ever happen to loose

them, shut down my computer, or accidentally leave a page, it’s all recorded for me! AND, I can then ac-cess it from another computer, if need be!

If you are not already using Google Chrome as your internet browser, I HIGHLY recommend it! It’s so much faster that IE, or FireFox and it makes my life so much easier in terms of organizing my internet “finds’, bookmarks, etc.

Chrome offers a variety of extensions/applications that help make my internet “work” so much easier!

THE TIME ZAPPER – EMAIL

More than any other activity in our workday, email is the worst offender of wast-ing time. If you find this is a major distraction for you , follow these 5 sugges-tions: 1. Shut off the automatic notifications when emails arrive in your inbox . The noise immediately detracts from the task at hand, and consumes more time to refocus again.2. Change the settings on your social networking sites that automatically notify you of new activity. You don’t need to know everytime someone has added you as a friend on Facebook or has invited you to join an online group.Check your sites only at specified times, preferably no more than once a day. 3. When you look at your inbox, immediately find the emails that can be han-dled in less than 2 minutes. Put the other ones in your email folders, (ie) refer-ence, client responses, and go back to those during the time you have sched-uled for those tasks. Emails should not remain in your inbox. If you leave them there, each time you open your email you are rereading them, and thinking about them. Time and focus wasted.4. If you know that you will never answer an email, delete it right away.5. At the most, check email only twice a day. Once in the morning and at noon, or at noon and at closing. Let people know when you will be checking your email, set up an automatic responder saying that these are the times I check my email. If there is something urgent, then the sender will know to pick up the phone and call you.You will find that you are remaining focused and more productive if you keep your email in check

Getting New Customers When There Is A Recession

During a recession, a business can lose customers and potential fail. Giving away promotional gifts is a great way to help keep your business successful and even grow. Here are some tips to consider for attracting new customers with Promo-tional gifts.

Recessions are a difficult time for everyone, both for consumers and business owners. But it can be twice as rough on small businesses or companies just starting out. These companies tend to have a smaller client base and therefore are more likely to see their business fail. Here are a few brief ideas that compa-nies can implement to make they do not fail and even grow the company when there is a recession.

The key is to keep as many current customers as possible, while attracting a whole new customer base. One way you can try to accomplish this is by offering new, cost-friendly services and products to your customers. This could mean a whole new range of smaller products that has less shipping fees. Or expanding your business online. Also, try keeping up with the latest trends and products. Just because it is a recession does not mean you can not be creative and find new ways to market or your services or come up with brand new products. The main point is to cut cost while still providing new products and services. This is a great way to attract new customers to your business.

Another proven method to help a company when there is a recession, or at any time, is the use of promotional gifts. This marketing tool will broaden your cus-tomer base while at the same time provide your customers with a positive im-pression about your company. Promotional giveaways can be organized in such a way that customers will want to keep coming back to your business. For exam-ple, in order to be eligible for the promotion gifts, the customer has to subscribe to your email list or newsletter. Ensuring that they will always be privy to your company’s latest deals and products. Another route you can take is to have the customer fill out a survey. This will provide you with information about the type of services and products that they want in the future.

Promotional gifts, with your logo or company’s information on them, is a great way to get people to recognize your business. Gifts can be such things as pens, coffee mugs, clothing or anything that portrays your company in a good light. Remember these items need to promote your business, but also reflect a positive image on your business. Try to stay away from low quality gifts. Keeping your customers happy and satisfied is very important.

Having a good relationship with your customers will have a two-fold effect. Not only will they be more likely to stay with you and bring their repeat custom. They will also refer your business to different people. Potentially giving you the opportunity of getting many new customers. Referrals are the best way new cus-tomers will come to your business.

These brief ideas to attract and keep customers are just a few methods you can try. They are proven to work for any type of company, either small, large or just starting out. The main point to remember is be creative and put time and effort into your business. Using these ideas will help you achieve success during a re-cession and growth for the future.
