South Team Installation

It was a red lettered day in the history of Rotary Bangalore South. Rtn. Manandi Suresh from South club was installed as District Governor for the year 2010-11 by PRID Rtn. M.K.Panduranga Setty on 1st July, 2010 at NIMHANS Convention Center. The glittering program was started with invocation by Rtn. S.Srinivas and Ann Bhavani Srinivas. Rtn. M.N.Suresh was the fourth governor from the South Club. The opportunity of sending one more Governor bestowed to South club after 17 years. The other three Governors from our club are PDG Rtn. S.Udayashankar, PDG Rtn. S.K.Sen and PDG Rtn. Late K K Suryanarayana Rao.

Rtn. M.Prabhudeva was installed as 44th president of Rotary Bangalore South by DG Rtn. M.N.Suresh along with the officer bearers for the year 2010-11. Inaugural The Vista was released by Assistant Governor Rtn. Kumar G. Ankalkoti.

It was also an occasion to confer Rotary Leadership Award to Honorable Chief Minister B.S.Yediyurappa. He was inducted as honorary Rotarian of our club. Vocational excellence award was conferred on Sri. Kris Gopalakrishnan, CEO of Infosys Technologies Ltd, Bangalore for his contribution to the growth of IT industry.

HH Pujya Swami Brahmanandaji, head of Chinmaya Mission Karnataka graced the occasion and blessed the new team. Sri S. Gopalakrishnan launched the Club Runner software for the district 3190.

12 new members were inducted to Rotary Bangalore South by DG Rtn. M.N.Suresh. Rtr. Ramesh A.T. was installed as the President of Rotaract Club of Bangalore South for the year 2010-11 by DG Rtn. M.N.Suresh. Vote of Thanks was proposed by District Secretary Rtn. Suresh K.Bhat.

FOUR WAY TEST

The first meeting after the hectic installation program was held at VVN Auditorium. The Guest Speaker for the day was Sri. Nagaraj Kote, a well known humour artist who has performed in many TV shows and on stage. He was introduced to the audience by Rtn.D.L.Prakash. Sri. Nagaraj Kote explained the importance of humour to humans in Kannada. He cracked many jokes on present day issues. The program was enjoyed by all Rotarians, Anns and Annets. Vote of thanks was proposed by our new member Rtn. Dr. Kiran Shankar.

7-7-10 – Humour in Life

New team for the year 2010-11 of Innerwheel Club of Bangalore South was installed at a colorful function held at Manadi Samskruti Sadana. President Mrs. Suma Prafulla and her team was installed by Innerwheel District Chairman Mrs. Renu Iyer. The chief guest for the function was noted film director Sri. Nagathihalli Chandrashekar. President Mrs. Suma Prafulla announced various programs for the year and donated note books, wheel chairs, wrist watches for the meritorious students, etc during the occasion. The meeting ended with vote of thanks proposed by Ann Prathiba Prabhudev.

14-7-10 Innerwheel Team Installation

On the occasion of the installation of District Governor, Rtn. Manandi Suresh, Rtn. B.S.Arunkumar agreed to become a major donor. For this commitment, he was recognized by Honorable Chief Minister Sri.B.S.Yediyurappa.

Mr. N.M.Narayana Murthy was installed as

the President of Senior Citizen Sangha for the

year 2010-11 by Rtn. B.S.Arunkumar at a

function held on 28th July, 2010 at VVN

auditorium. Rtn. B.S.Arunkumar also

installed other members of the new team for

the year 2010-11. 10 new members were

inducted to the Senior Citizen Sangha. Rtn.

We have changed the The Vista design and color with

change of leadership. The installation program of DG

and South team was held on 1st July and it was well

organized. New team has lot of plans and we need

support from all to convert plans into action. We have

inducted 13 new members and many more to come. We

are looking forward to your suggestions to improve the

Vista.

Installation of Senior Citizen Sangha team

The first Club assembly for the year 2010-11 was held at Guhantara, manmade

underground cave resort on the Kanakapura Road. All Directors presented their plans for

the year and were appreciated by all. Rotarians expressed their opinions and the

suggestions were taken by President Rtn. M.Prabhudeva for implementation. New

members, who were inducted on 1st July, presented their brief profile to the audience.

21-7-10 – Club Assembly

Rotary Bangalore South Youth Festival was celebrated on 31st

July and 1st August, 2010. Details in the next issue of The Vista

Rotarians & Anns can celebrate their birthdays and wedding anniversary days by contributing to community service projects. The amounts are Rs. 600, 1000 or multiple of same. For details contact President or Secretary.

ICGF on Club Service will be hosted by Rotary club of Kanakapura on 8th August, 2010 at a resort near Kanakapura.

Rtn. H.S.Nagaraj was appointed as Honorary Consul of Switzerland in Karnataka by The Government of Switzerland to look after the Swiss interest in Karnataka.

Rtn. G.Muralidhar was unanimously elected as member of Management Committee of FKCCI.

Rtn. T.R.Dwarakanath was elected as member of Management Committee of FKCCI.

Rtn. T.R.Dwarakanath was nominated as Chairman of Managing Committee of National High School, Basavanagudi.

Rtn.N.K.Venkateshmurthy elected as Secretary for Distribution Committee of KFCC.

On the occasion of installation of new team of Rotary Bangalore South, 12 new members were inducted to the club by DG Rtn. M.N. Suresh.

On 21st July, 2010 club assembly was held at Guhantara and another member Rtn. Ramesh Mehta was inducted to the club by PP Rtn. B.S.Arunkumar. With the induction of new members the total strength of the club has grown to 95.

Rotary Bangalore South team headed by President Rtn. M.Prabhudeva gave a live program on 23rd July, 2010 between 8PM to 9 PM in Akashavani 102.9 FM radio. President and his team explained the Rotary program, projects and plans for the year. Special thanks to RI District 3190, specially Rtn.S.Jayaraman and Ann. Anu Mannar for coordinating and interacting with our team during the program.

During the club assembly many Rotarians announced magnanimous contributions for the community service. Rtn.Jeetu Mutha, R t n . M . G . N a g e n d r a a n d R t n . S.A.Gopalakrishna agreed to pay Rs30,000 each for heart surgeries.

Rtn.T.R.Dwarakanath has already made Rs30,000 for one heart surgery. Under the District subsidized scheme, any club can sponsor one heart surgery for Rs30,000 and rest of the amount will be paid by District and the hospital.

The Vista thanks all donors for their magnanimous contribution to community service projects.
