FINES AND RECOGNITIONS

Fine Master Maureen McBride began by

asking if anyone had a Happy Thoughts.

PP Patrick Magnani sprang to his feet and

said he was very happy. Patrick shared he

has friends and family in Paris and they are all

safe. Patrick spun the wheel for a two. All

Rotarians paid $1.

John Hallsten w as proud to share that

his youngest grandchild started college. John

spun the wheel for $10.

Mo then told President Gene that she

had errands to run before Rotary, got finished

earlier than expected and arrived at the Lions

Gate very early. Someone came by looking for

President Gene; and w hen Mo told the

person President Gene would not arrive for

another hour, the person ask if Mo could give

President Gene a package. In the

package was a suitcase with a letter attached

which described an incident which occurred

several weeks ago when one of President

Gene’s gavel disappeared. Photos and

letter on page 8. The gavel has returned.

When President Gene returned to the

podium, he told the group that PP Dominic

Mecklenburg reiterated several tim es

prior to the mini Rotarians-at-Work Project

that the volunteers should wear their

Rotarians-at-Work T-shirts. It appears

PP Dominic did not wear his. President Gene

asked him to spin the wheel which landed on

$9.

Mini Rotarians-at-Work Day Project

On Friday, November 13th starting at 9:30am, we had a mini Rotarians at Work Day Project for a

local resident of Antelope. The Rotarians lifted a piece of sidewalk, trimmed back some tree roots

and placed the concrete slab back in place like a puzzle piece. It was successful, we’re done!

There was no cost to the Club. The crew providing the manpower included Past Presidents

DEAR PRESIDENT GENE:

AS YOU ARE WELL AWARE, MANY WEEKS AGO I WAS ABANDONED AT

THE LIONS GATE. I WATCHED LONGINGLY AS YOU LEFT AND WALKED

DOWN THE PATH TO YOUR CAR APPEARING NOT TO GIVE ME A

SECOND THOUGHT. I TRIED TO FOLLOW BUT COULDN'T. I WAS SO

DISTRESSED.

SOMEONE SAW ME ALONE AND SCARED. THEY TOOK PITY ON ME AND

OFFERED TO TAKE CARE OF ME.

WE'VE BEEN TRAVELING THROUGHOUT THE STATE SINCE I LAST SAW YOU.

AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE TRAVEL STICKERS ON MY SUITCASE, I'VE SEEN

A LOT OF CALIFORNIA SINCE WE WERE TOGETHER LAST. I'VE HAD A GREAT

TIME. BUT, ALAS, I WAS HOMESICK EVEN THOUGH I THOUGHT YOU DIDN'T

CARE.

I'VE BEEN SO LONESOME AND MISSED SEEING YOU SO I DECIDED TO

MAKE MY WAY HOME TO SPEND THE HOLIDAYS WITH YOU AND THE

FAMILY.

MY ONLY REQUEST IS THAT YOU KEEP A MORE WATCHFUL EYE ON ME IN

THE FUTURE AS THERE ARE PEOPLE OUT THERE JUST WAITING TO GAVEL

NAP ME.
