Introducing our guests for this Tuesday night –

Rotary Club of North Hobart – background information taken from

their website

RI Charter Granted – 2nd May 1961 Sponsor Club – Rotary Club of Hobart Service – The Club has been active in all avenues of service. Of particular note have been services to youth, overseas aid, vocational and community services in support of a wide range of needs and official Rotary Projects. A particular project of pride was the Club’s involvement in the construction of the training brigantine the “Windward Bound”. Club Bell – The Club bell is unique, being made of brass and bearing the signatures of all Charter members. The bell was donated by the late Harold Sargison, a craftsman known worldwide for his work in silver. Sponsorship of New Clubs – The Club sponsored the formation of the Rotary Club of Salamanca in 1993, a very successful and dynamic breakfast club. The Club has also sponsored the formation of three Probus clubs through the efforts of Past President Murray Yaxley. Meetings – Tuesday evenings at the Black Buffalo Hotel with a 6.15pm start and 7.30pm finish.

The Bellerive Yacht Club has a modern bar that is open seven days a week. Seasonal variations

apply and normal trading hours are extended for some yachting and social events. The Members Bar and Anchors Restaurant are located on the Upper Deck. Anchors Restaurant is

open for both lunch and dinner on Thursdays and Fridays all year. Casual meals are available on race days. Menus are changed regularly and it is advisable to book tables. We have a Wednesday

lunch meal for $15 that includes 2 courses. There is a board out the front of the club which

advertises the meal of the week. Bookings are recommended. The club can also cater for diners with special dietary requirements.

The Marina Bar is located on the lower level by the water adjacent to the barbecue area and lawn. The barbecue is available for members to use by arrangement through the staff.

Both bars are fully licensed with an extensive range of beverages to suit all tastes. A wine list is available with a fantastic variety including a range of Tasmanian wines.

The club is positioned to take advantage of all day sun and the fantastic views over Mt Wellington,

Kangaroo Bay and the Club Marina. The outdoor areas of the club are a great place to relax in summer with afternoon sun and shelter from the sea breeze.

Our club offers many events open to the public. Melbourne Cup lunch is on again this year and in November we will be having a Burlesque Dinner and Show.

We have 2 areas to offer for functions with full catering and we also have our lovely Boardroom for

meetings for smaller groups. We welcome non members to use our facilities. It’s a great setting to come even just for coffee.

Bellerive Yacht Club is proud to accommodate Bellerive Rotary each Tuesday evening for their regular meetings.
