HISTORICAL STATUE ACTIVITY

• Get into the pairs I have placed you in… that means SIT NEXT TO THEM!

• You will pretend to be statues of historical figures temporarily on display in the U.S. Capitol’s National Statuary Hall. These statues represent important individuals who influenced the development of democratic government in the United States.

• Review the cards I have given you of your ASSIGNED historical figure. This means READ THEM TO EACHOTHER AND DISCUSS THE INFORMATION

• WHEN YOU ARE DIRECTED TO DO SO:

• You will move to your assigned location in the room

• You will pretend to be statues of historical figures temporarily on display in the U.S. Capitol’s National Statuary Hall. These statues represent important individuals who influenced the development of democratic government in the United States.

• One partner will be the statue while the second partner will interview the statues/historical figures

• Each interview will last 4 minutes

• You will record the information on your graphic organizer

• Once all the interviewers have completed their graphic organizer we will switch
