They believed in many Gods

In Roman times they had a lot of gods, and goddess but now we have only one god. But the romans had a good reason to have a lot of gods, each people thought that one of the gods were ether powerful, or just like them. I think my roman goddess is Venus-goddess of love. The other gods are.

Most people in the Roman Empire lived mainly on the usual foods of people living around the Mediterranean Sea - barley, olive oil, and wine. In addition to being full of carbohydrates, these foods provided fat (the olive oil) and protein (the barley). If you were rich, you could also eat beef, pork, lamb, chicken, and fish, dormice, and snails.

and cucumbers and lettuce, fruit like apples and

figs, nuts, and sometimes cheese and eggs.

What the Romans wore everyday What clothes did women wear?

Women wore a longer tunic which was often ankle-length. Over this the women wore a stola which was a full length from neck to ankle, high- waisted and fastened at the shoulders with clasps.

What did Roman children wear?

Boys wore a tunic down to their knees and a cloak if it was cold. Rich boy's wore a toga which had a purple border. Girls wore a tunic with a woolen belt tied around their waists. Children wore a special charm around their neck called a bulla. It was given to them when they were a few days old.

What did men wear?

Only men who were Roman citizens could wear a toga. They wore it when they wanted to look smart, like wearing a suit today. The toga was made from white wool or white Egyptian linen. It was square or rectangular in shape and was worn draped around the body. A tunic was always worn under a toga.

What the Romans did for sport

Hunting was also popular. People hunted animals for fun as well as for food. The Romans introduced fallow deer to Britain, just for hunting.

Some things the Romans did for fun were horrible. They enjoyed fights between gladiators, and fights between people and animals. These bloodthirsty shows were put on in front of crowds in large arenas called amphitheatres.

The stadium (or circus) was used for chariot-racing. A stadium had a long rectangular enclosure, curved at one end, with seats all around except at the the end opposite the curve. Down the middle was the spine (spina), which the chariots hurtled around, lap after lap, trying to cut in front of each other.

A stadium has been discovered at Colchester. This is the first and only stadium so far found in the UK. Rome had eight chariot stadiums.
