Physical inactivity is estimated as being the principal cause for:

Who was this man?
Plato (English pronunciation: /ˈpleɪtoʊ/; Greek: Πλάτων,
Plátōn, "broad"[2]; 428/427 BC[a] – 348/347 BC), was a
Classical Greek philosopher, mathematician, student of
Socrates, writer of philosophical dialogues, and founder of
the Academy in Athens, the first institution of higher learning
in the Western world. Along with his mentor, Socrates, and
his student, Aristotle, Plato helped to lay the foundations of
Western philosophy and science.[3]

What has Plato to do with PA and
Sport?
“Platonism" is a term coined by scholars to refer to the
intellectual consequences of denying, as Socrates often does,
the reality of the material world.
Socrates, Plato and Aristotle are the creators of “dualism”
Dualism is the theory that mind and body are two distinct
substances

The practical consequences
Education is based only in theory and movement is a small and less important part of it.
Although there is a great change in the mentality of the modern society we still live in a world that don’t consider man or woman as an unique entity but as a combination of mind and body, separated in a way or another, where mind has it’s own means of education and body other different means.

The situation of PE in school Not important
Not answering the needs of the children of today.
In our schools PE and sport is irrelevant:
2 hours in almost 30 of regular classes
Very strict and out of date methodology
Not very motivated teachers
Not interested school leaders

already identified our strategic partners but it is important to
work together with them more efectively.
