Where does it flow?
• The river flows Eastwards for 137km• It then ends up at the North sea between
Redcar and Hartlepool.• Banks of the river are covered in amazing
scenery.

• Middle-Less steep as flows downstream, sides of river erode. Deposits of sand and gravel increase. The river gets wider.
• Lower-Close to Yarm. Large meanders. Some led to formation of Ox bow lakes.

• It is very wide with mudflats and sand banks

What’s the river used for?• The River Tees has been used for
transporting goods since the industrial revolution in Britain.
• Boats would go up and down the river bringing goods to different places.
• It also became important in developing new chemical industries.
• The river is now more commonly used for leisure and some water sports take place on it during the summer months.
