Over four weeks participants be working in real work zone and traffic controller activities to achieve: DPTI WORK ZONE TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT LICENCE (RIIWHS302D Implement traffic management plan/ RIIWHS205D Control traffic with stop/slow bat) MEASUREMENTS AND CALCULATIONS (RIICCM201D Carry out measurements and calculations) RISK ASSESSMENTS AND SAFE WORK METHOD STATEMENTS (RIIRIS201D Conduct local risk control) COMMUNICATION SKILLS (RIICOM201D Communicate in the workplace) OPERATE LIGHT VEHICLE (RIIVEH201D Operate light vehicle) PLUS the non-accredited modules of: HAZARDOUS MANUAL TASKS USING UHF RADIOS READ PLANS SET UP AND POSITION SPECIALISED EQUIPMENT You will be required to hold a current driving licence (minimum P2), and be able to drive a manual vehicle. The program now has provision for those unskilled in manual transmission to access additional training. Designed and delivered in collaboration with Traffic Management companies that are actively looking for suitably experienced and skilled staff to be immediately employed, this program builds the skills, confidence and experience of prospective employees in this industry, rendering them more work ready and more employable. The program offers individual case management and structured workplace mentoring to participants to support and overcome any barriers to achievement and employment. The Right Way to Traffic is an approved activity for Annual Activity Purposes (Activity ID 5930322). FEES • $295 participant course fee • PPE • First Aid certificate (if the participant does not hold a current ticket) • Drug and alcohol testing prior to employment/work experience. • Incidental expenses to the participant may include travel costs to and from the location of the program and lunch JobActives may cover some, or all, of the above expenses for participants.
