Burning embers travel long distances.Burning Embers from fires miles away can attack your home.Proven by independent testing at Western Fire Center Inc, VulcanVent® will keep dangerous embers from entering the ventilationareas of your home even when the fire is still far away. Then, inthe presence of fire the vent will self close preventing fire as wellas ember intrusion.

How does it work?Vulcan Vent® begins with a standard frame design, but behindthat is 1/4” hexagon expanded aluminum, coated with anintumescent coating from Fire Free Coatings Inc. The coatingswells up when exposed to high temperatures and closes off thecells, effectively blocking off fire & ember intrusion. The ventcloses when it reaches about 300 degrees C. Once it reaches thecritical temperature the closure is very fast. This unique insulatingdesign blocks not only Fire & Embers but also the HEAT that couldotherwise cause your attic to burst into flames.
