The Research Project consists of four 6 credit units.

At Honours level, these are called Science Research Dissertations Parts 1-4

Full time Honours students complete their studies within one academic year (two semesters)

Parts 1 and 2 must be included in Semester 1Parts 3 and 4 must be included in Semester 2.

The Research Project and your Study Plan-Returning Masters students (full time)

Masters students must have completed at least 24 credit points of Level 4 or Level 5 taught units with a weighted average of at least 65% to enrol on the Research Project

The Research Proposal & Literature Review and Research Project Part 1 take place in the first semester, with Parts 2 and 3 in the second semester.

The Research Project and your Study Plan-New Masters students

Masters students must have completed at least 24 credit points of Level 4 or Level 5 taught units with a weighted average of at least 65% to enrol on the Research Project

This means that you cannot enrol in the Research Project in Semester 1 of your first year.You must complete 24 credit points of taught coursework at Level 4 or Level 5 and gain an average mark of 65% in these units in order to qualify for the Project.

The Research Project and your Study Plan-New Masters students:

- 2 year program of 96 creditsMasters students on a 2 year program requiring completion of 96 credits should take coursework units in Year 1 as far as possible. You can enrol on the Research Project in Year 2 if you wish. You do not have to complete the Research Project: you can choose to study taught coursework units instead.

If you do choose the Research Project, please remember: you must enrol on the Research Proposal & Literature Review and Research Project Part 1 in one semester and then Research Projects Parts 2 and 3 in the next semester.You cannot enrol in all four Research Project units in one semester.

The Research Project and your Study Plan-New Masters students:

- 1.5-2 year program of 72-96 credits

Masters students with accreditation for prior learning are on a program which allows completion of the Masters within 1.5-2 years, studying between 72-96 credits.

The requirements for the Research Project are still the same. You must complete at least 24 credit points of taught Level 4 or Level 5 units with an average mark of at least 65% before you can enrol on the Research Project.

This means you cannot enrol on the Research Project in your first semester. You can choose to enrol on the Research Project in either Semester 2 of Year 1 or Semester 1 of Year 2, depending on how you choose to balance your coursework.

But you MUST take the Research Proposal & Literature Review and Research Project Part 1 in one semester and Research Projects Parts 2 and 3 in the next semester.
