DATABASE CLEAN-UP
In the near future, we will be starting the project of a new pictorial directory here at St. Mary’s. Before this project gets under-way, we need to clean up the data we currently have in our computer system. It has become apparent to us in the office that it is time for this to happen as folks are disconnecting their home phones and going to cell phone only, folks have moved etc.. There are forms for each family to fill out that coordinate with our computer program. This is a painless process that only takes a few minutes of your time. We will use this in-formation to update our records. We will be customizing the packets per family as we need a form filled out for each member of the household. We will let you know when these are ready to be picked up.
Summer is the time when one sheds one's tensions with one's
clothes, and the right kind of day is jeweled balm for the bat-
tered spirit. A few of those days and you can become drunk
with the belief that all's right with the world.

Episcopal Church Women
The June ECW met on June 18th and had a lovely nutritious meal with good fellowship. We sent cards and discussed luncheon dates. Our speaker couldn’t be with us. Remember a basket (tote) for the ladies of Triangle House will be in mills Hall starting the month of July. We will be collecting personal items for them. Items can be regular or travel size but preferably not the large econo-my size. —Peace, Gertrude
REMINDER !!! Food Bank Collection - Sunday, July 27th
As was communicated in the Red Doors last month, the Vestry has decided to put more energy and focus on food collections for the Hopkins Co. Food Bank. Be-cause the need is so great in this area the Vestry felt
that the time frame of every fifth Sunday (which is only 4 x’s per year) could be increased to 6 x’s per year by having collections on the 4th Sun-day of every odd month starting in May. As the date approaches, we may communicate in the weekly bulletin, items that the food bank is really in need of. Thanks for your support!

Vestry Meeting Sunday, July 13th
The Vestry meeting for July will be an abbreviated one after the
service on July 13th. Since many Vestry members are taking vacations etc., it was decided rather than forego the meeting en-
tirely, it would be best to meet briefly as to stay on top of items that that are pressing such as St. Mary’s Day in August etc..
If you have any questions, concerns, ideas or suggestions, please submit these in writing to Rev. Candyce or one of the Vestry members, prior to the meeting. Contact information is on
the front cover.

Lunch Bunch Changes
The Lunch Bunch group has decided to change their monthly meeting to the second Wednesday of the month rather than the first Wed. as in the past. Therefore the next Lunch Bunch meeting will be on Wed., July 9th at #
9 Steakhouse. (That should be easy to remember). The book club is read-ing: “The Explanation for Everything” by Lauren Grodstein and will meet at Kim Adcock’s home after lunch. The August Lunch Bunch will be on Wed., Aug.13th. The Book Club is reading: “The Fault in Our Stars” by John Green. Meeting places will be announced in the August Red Doors.
St. Mary’s Monthly Budget
Actual Income thru May 2013: $ 52,587.10 Actual Expenses for May 2013: $ 65,234.46
A Note Regarding Budget / Pledges…
As you can see from the figures above, our budget is off balance. We got off
track during the tough winter months when the frigid temps and icy roads
forced us to put safety first and cancel some services. However, this hurts us
budget-wise as no service means no offering but yet the bills don’t take a
’snow day’. So we are just asking that you double-check your pledge com-
mitment to see if you are current. This will help us to get back on track.
-Thank you

Prayer Request Cards Reminder ...
As you are filling out your prayer request cards, we ask that you please include the person’s address on the back, if possible. This will serve a two-fold purpose. We wish to send the person needing prayer a word of encouragement and also to invite them to the healing service on Fri-days. —Thanks for your help!

Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. -Hebrews 4:16
Coffee Hour
We are in need of volunteers to help with coffee hour for the months of July & August. All this requires is making coffee for coffee hour and bringing in snacks. This does not have to be an elaborate spread of choices. Keep it simple & easy, whether that be store bought or home-made items, whatever works best for you. The sign up
sheet is in Mills Hall. Thank you for your consideration!
NAMI Support Group
The next NAMI Meeting will be on Thursday, July 3rd from 6-7:30 pm. NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness; a support group for family members of those suffering from mental illness. If you have any questions or would like more information, you may call Tom Mills at 821-

Episcopal Independence Day Prayer
Lord God Almighty, in whose Name the founders of this
country won liberty for themselves and for us,
and lit the torch of freedom for nations then unborn:
Grant that we and all the people of this land may have
grace to maintain our liberties in righteousness and peace;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
Fortress of Faith
It’s easy to say “In God we trust”
When life is radiant and fair,
But the test of faith is only found
when there are burdens to bear.
For our claim to faith in the sunshine
is really no faith at all,
For when the roads are smooth and days are bright
our need for God is small.
And no one discovers the fullness
Or the greatness of God’s love
Unless they have walked in the darkness
With only a light from above.
For the faith to endure whatever comes
Is born of sorrow and trials
And strengthened only by discipline
And nurtured by self-denials.
So be not disheartened by troubles,
for trials are the building blocks
On which to erect a fortress of faith,
Secure on God’s ageless rocks.
