Sale Book By Huncovsky Marketing - Manhattan, KS - 785.259.4122
Even though this is the fifth year we have been selling cattle Labor Day Weekend, this is our first Auction. Each year we have been getting a little bigger. and have decided to move away from the Private Treaty Sale.
We feel we are truly blessed by the Lord with all we have been able to accomplish in a few short years. We feel the cattle keep get-ting better and keep moving us forward in the breed and industry. More importantly, our customers are finding success within their own programs and achieving their goals. Whether you have one heifer or 1000 cows we want your purchases to help you achieve your goals. We want you to get a bigger return on your investment in a shorter period of time. If there is a way we can help you do that – please let us know.
Last October we expanded on our progressive partnership with Brylor Ranch, the oldest Red Angus Breeder in Canada. Our goal is to bring Superior Canadian genetics to the central United States. The rapid expansion happened when we shipped 33 females from Pincher Creek to Kansas. We feel the partnership gives our customers a unique opportunity to acquire great females and genetics without the headache and expense of transporting them to the USA. One of the May heifer calves we sold from this partnership was Division Champion for Kale Watchous at NAJRAS. This partnership is rapidly expanding, get on board or you can get left behind. We are also a marketing representative for Brylor Semen Sales, please let us know how we can take the opportunity to accommo-date your semen needs.
This year so far has been full of success and fun! In Denver Whitney St. Clair sold the high selling heifer in the Mile High Sale for $23,000- she purchased 36W for $3,500 after Denver in 2010. Abbey Ivey sold a flush on Lakina for $3,500 in Ft. Worth. Lakina had an incredibly successful show career including Champion Red Angus at the State Fair of Texas 2010; Lakina was purchased in Red Sunday 2009 for $2,025. Don’t tell me these two young ladies aren’t going to be successful cattle producers with returns like that!
Calves came fast and furious in February, and we had colder calving temperatures than we had anticipated. We had 90% of our Huckleberry calves born in just 35 days! Huckleberry will sell in Mulberry Mayhem October 26- contact us for more information. In March we were able to attend the 40th Annual Brylor Bull Sale and purchased two new herd Bulls: Red Brylor WRAZ Makin Waves 39X and Red Brylor Sequoia 213X.
June was so busy. We hosted the Junior Red Angus members attending Red Round Up at the farm. They toured part of the herd, held their salesmanship contest, weight guessing contest, and had lunch. While this was happening the North American Junior Red Angus Show was just kicking off in Stillwater. Congratulations to all the exhibitors! Huckleberry calves dominated the Breeders Cup Futurity winning five of eight classes. Cody Cornell was named Champion winning $1500 on a heifer he purchased for $2800 in Red Sunday 2010. Hunter Lanier earned $1000 for his Reserve Champion Heifer he purchased in Red Sunday 2010 for $3700. With the prize money they won at the futurity, sale credit from The Red Saturday Show and semen credit- these heifers cost them pennies. We truly enjoy working with all these great young people and getting to know them and their programs better.
We just had the privilege of getting home fromthe Kansas Red Angus Field Day at WildcatCreek Ranch. We would like to thank WildcatCreek for hosting such a great event. The best partabout being involved with this great breed is all ofour friends and cattleman we spend time withand learn from.
We feel so blessed to be in such a strong beefmarket. There are a strong set up femalesavailable. Feel free to stop by anytime to lookat the sale cattle and the herd!
Thank you for all your support and friendship.Kurt, Paula, ParkerJack and Karen, Jim
I could go on and on about this mating and how great the females are. 22L, who we purchased with Fair Acres Farm in “Tradition with a Vision” 2008, has produced several great daughters - 19U who was Senior Calf Champion at Farmfair and Agribition and Senior Yearling Champion at the World Angus Forum 2009. When I was at Brylor
last fall I came home and told Paula 19U had the best bull calf on the whole ranch. At that time we were not interested in purchasing him, but when we decided we would sell possession on Huckleberry in Mulberry Mayhem he became the bull we needed to own. I think that speaks pretty highly for the cow family considering we have all
the genetics in our pasture, so we purchased Makin Waves for $47,500 with 5-L Livestock as the Syndicate bull from Brylor in March. JKC FAF Mercedes 103W, another daughter was Reserve Champion Overall in 2010 and was Reserve Senior Yearling in 2011 at The National Western. We sold the pick of 22L’s fall calves for $10,000 in the
Mile High Sale 2011 to Wildcat Creek. We are selling choice of these two Mulberry Daughters. - Don’t let this premier lot pass you by.

This impressive fall heifer is out of a maternal sister to New Trend. There is no question the Mulberry x New Trend mating has produced some great females. The genetics of this
female indicate she should be a good one, then you take a look at her and she is even better. She has the eye appeal, muscle, and design of a great show heifer; the genetics and rib and structure of a great cow. She would sure make a good run in the fall division this fall and winter. She is just about ready to breed- think of all the possibilities you have
with this great breeding piece.
sTRAWBERRY
Her dam goes back to Ms Advancer of 4L R123, one of the two foundation females of our Red Angus herd. Have Faith is the ¾ sister to JKC Strawberry 710 by Mulberry, the Reserve Division Champion at the National Show in Ft Worth in 2008 and Grand
Champion Female at the Houston Stock Show 2008. Her maternal sister was Supreme Champion Female at the Harvey County Fair for Hunter Lanier in 2009. 12Y has all the genetics of a great one and when you take a look at her she doesn’t disappoint. JKC
Have Faith 12Y will be one of the stoutest soundest heifers to sell this year so if you want to take home some purple Have Faith and buy this lot.

We are selling choice of R516 bred to Brylor Sequoia or her Stout heifer calf. Only because this is our 1st sale and we offer quality in unique lots is this pick lot offered. This moderate cow is one the easiest fleshing, stoutest made females we have. She has produced several top performing bulls at bull test for us. She
goes back to the great Eleanor cow family, and is a milking machine with a picture perfect udder. She is a pasture favorite of many herd visitors and we are often asked if she is for sale so here is your opportunity. Her Stout heifer is just that STOUT! This heifer calf puts it all in a complete package for the show ring and the
pasture. She has the look, muscle, bone, and dueability.

bitten ears but you look past that and she has lots of muscle expression, rib, and growth.

Parker named Apple the day she was born, and if he had his way he would be keeping her to show! Her mother was Reserve Champion at the Indiana State Fair and won her class at NAJRAS and NWSS Open and Junior Shows. Her pedigree goes back to Black Angus
genetics- her mother will be flushed next year as we think she is that good. Her udder on a first calf heifer could not be nicer. This Stout heifer has a great front with a ton of rib shape.
This is a big extended female who has the extra extension up front great in her lines and profiles really nice. She truly is impressive in her body depth, bone and foot, but her shape
is what sets her apart. Her mother is from the famous Fineline Herd in western Alberta. This herd is known for their tremendous stock; don’t miss out on this outcross heifer.

Full sister to Nathan Lanier’s 14X that he has been successfully showing this year. Compared to her sister she has a bit more size and extension through her front but has
maintained the rib and stoutness that Cherish has. This cow family does nothing but milk and put pounds on their calves. Her grandmother is a moderate framed cow who always
weans off the heaviest calves.

This is the third full sister and we think she is the best one yet! This show heifer prospect has it all going for her, a great pedigree, super eye appeal, and plenty of muscle. She is a looker and is not missed by a single pasture visitor. Her dam is not only sired by Master Plan but goes back to the
great Canadian donor Empress 57 L. If you don’t believe us on the genetic power here just call Mr. McKenzie in Canada and see what he says! Her mother’s udder is absolutely beautiful. MAC

terms of performance. OSC

Here is a Balancer heifer out of Huck. We purchased her mother and a few other Gelbvieh cows from the Judd Ranch. Her mother had a purebred heifer calf on
her side when we purchased her and thought Huck could put a little extra look and extension in her front. She proves our theory and that he works outside the Red Angus
breed. This super extended female is long extended has tons of power and grow. There will be a commercial heifer show at NAJRAS- she will be eligible!

This lot is a highlight as we wanted to offer a breeding piece that was mated to our new $47,500 herd sire Makin Waves. This Cherokee Canyon daughter from the Ludvigson herd is a maternal sister to Huckleberry. This big broody cow is
an easy keeper who produces great calves. We have a daughter in our herd and she has a nice Huckleberry bull calf she is raising right now. She was pasture
exposed to Makin Waves May 15 - July 1.

MAKIN WAVEs
This Mulberry daughter is bred for a Fall calf by our new herd sire John Wayne. Her May heifer calf was a class winner for Hunter Lanier at the National Junior
Show in Denver 2011. This may be one of the biggest bodied cows I have seen. Plus, she has a beautiful udder that Brylor ranch cows are famous for.
Think of the financial oppurtunities this lot could bring for you. Mating her to John Wayne will Line up the one of the greatest cows Fayette 8G in her pedigree twice.
Where else will you find breeding pieces like this?

Pick of the Bred Heifers from the JK/Brylor Partnership. You can search far and wide to find a set of bred heifers this good. Just like any set of cattle you find there is usually something small you might want
to change about an individual or group of cattle. Maybe they need a little more extension, more correct teat placement, larger hoof. You know what I am talking about. This group is no different there is something you would like to change; the difference is what you would like to change is on paper- the
MAC behind their registration. Part of the partnership expansion with Brylor Ranch in October was shipping the MAC females to Kansas. This gave us an opportunity to acquire great genetics and females that we would not have otherwise been able to get our hands on or afford. We feel managing something
on paper like this is much more doable than breeding out bad udders, poor structure, hard doing cattle, or poor milking females. That is why we are so excited and grateful to Brylor Ranch for embarking on this partnership with us. All the heifers were AIed to the $39,000 bull from NWSS- Red Diamond T Hips Stout 107U or Red BCC Crimson Jewels 102U and “cleaned up” with Brylor WRAZ Makin Waves 39X who we purchased for $47,500 with 5-L
Livestock from Brylor’s 40th annual Bull Sale. All breeding information will be available sale day.

Here is an opportunity to purchase a flush on a CLEAN Squall daughter. She is beautiful first calf heifer who we anticipate to be our next leading donor. We purchased her mother in Tradition with a Vision in 2008 hoping for a heifer calf, which is what we got. Loren Baldwin
purchased her in Red Sunday 2009 and we are now partners with him. She has a near perfect udder. She truly impresses us with her look, muscle, body, and fleshing ability. Her genetics and her phenotypic makeup make her something truly special. She has a great
July Bob (MFIN FINCH BULL BSR 104 W9) bull calf at her side right now and we are leaving her open to begin flushing this fall. Flush terms: half down sale day, buyer pays
flush cost, 6 viable, freezable or transferable embryos guaranteed.

The nice Huckleberry heifer was purchased by Shelby Rush in Red Sunday 2010 and shown earlier this year. She goes back to the Daphine cow family at Oates Land and Cattle in Texas. She is truely a better brood cow than she probably is a show heifer.
She is a big ribbed easy doing female who is long and sets down on a good foot. She was AIed to Bieber Making Hay on May 27. Don’t miss out on this great female, but
even possibly more exciting the calf inside her!

I am not sure where we would be today with out Huck. He was truly instrumental on our success and recognition in the Red Angus breed. He was Reserve National Champion 2008 as a calf. He has done nothing for us but improve our herd. He has produced show champions, great breeding pieces, and great bulls for us and our customers. His heifer calves dominated the Futurity Show at NAJRAS 2011. We won 6 out of 8 classes and 5 of the class winners were Huck’s daughters along with the Grand and Reserve Champion Futurity Heifers. He also produced a $9,000
bull in Brylor’s 40th Annual Bull Sale. If you like what you see out him you have the rare opportunity to get your hands on him. He sells 1/3 interest and full possession October 26, 2011 in Mulberry Mayhem- Emporia, KS. I have very mixed emotions about this decision, but know the daughters we have kept out of him will continue to
generate profits and great cattle for our program and yours.
