1.Why Would You Fund this Project?
We can all agree that our Youth are in need. They’re in need of basic skills. They’re in need of
wisdom. They’re in need of love. They need a strong foundation to handle life’s challenges,
guidance on how to remain respectful of themselves & others and patience to learn how to
appreciate the value of hard work & integrity.
We need a youth leader that will give them insight and skills, while guiding them to the next
chapter of their life.
We need a youth leader that is willing to answer their tough questions with care & dignity, yet
non-judgemental.
We need a youth leader that will look at the whole picture & not just their current situations.
We need a youth leader that is willing to be Hated before they are Loved!
That Leader was called:
Ms. Nikki is her Name.

3. What’s her story?
Why would we help her?
Ms. Nikki has been working for the State of Delaware as a certified nurse for over 25 years. She
was a banking customer service team leader by day and a nurse by night. She ran her own
private senior care service (Capri Care) for 7.5 years until she had her second child. When her
second child was born, hard times hit the home.
She was the only one working, her son had to remain in the hospital for three weeks because
they couldn’t figure out what was wrong. They learned that he was born with a Urinary Tract
Infection that had affected his other bodily functions. Thanks to the NICU at Christiana, her son
recovered and was able to come home.
While in the hospital, the family suffered financial loss when the man that she had married, sold
her wedding rings and took money for the household expenses, out of her account to get “HIGH”
on Wet. She finally knew what she had to do. She removed HIM from the home, protected her
children and decided to do it on her own...again.
But now, instead of one child to care for, she was raising two… on her own. She couldn’t
commit to her private service, because her children’s schedules kept her from working normal
work hours. The service required her to be out of the house for more hours than she could be
away from her breastfed son and elementary school daughter. She went back to school for
medical billing to land a job that would allow her to work from home.
She graduated with honors and landed her externship job. Three months later, due to loss of
business and the troubled economy, Ms. Nikki was laid off.
No problem.
That very day she went home and got on the computer. She knew she had to work for herself
again, so she started looking for ways to work from home. She decided to try to write a book, just
to see if it could be done, and on 9/10/2010, her book “31 Ways to Brighten Your Days: Tips
to Beat Stress, Boost Relationships & Feel Great!” was published.
She was so excited, but that was just the beginning of the journey of finding her calling.
Even though she had authored her first book, she knew nothing about marketing it to get it to the
public. She didn’t even know who her real audience was. She just wanted to let people know how
to NEVER GIVE UP, no matter what is happening in your life.
Bills were overdue, friends were supporting her and the kids, money was scarce and all she
knew was that it won’t be like this forever. “Hold on.” “It’s almost over.” “Just wait a little while
longer.” That’s what she continued to say to herself.
She wanted to get a job, she wanted to take care of the kids, she wanted to get her life moving,
but everytime she tried to move away from her calling, she ran into walls. Brick Walls.
Eventually, she lost the apt, she lost the support of most friends, she lost the support of her
children & family members...everyone was against her (or so she thought). But by using her
FAITH, she was resilient enough to keep it together and stay strong for her family and take the
emotional lashes. She dropped her pride and accepted help from people that were willing to help
and could understand her plight.
Then one day, she got a download from God to start the National TV Teen Talk show to help the
youth battle life’s challenges, so that they could build the same resilience she was holding onto
when her life seemed unbearable. She had been speaking to organizations and library groups for
months, but it was few and far between; not enough to cover her expenses.
Again, hard times hit. She couldn’t continue to live with friends and not pay them any rent or
expenses, so she decided to move out ...with nowhere to go.
She knew it was crazy, but she packed up her kids and waited for the Lord to tell her what to do,
all while planning the talk show for the kids. Her HOPE... was that the right people would catch
wind of the work she was doing and want to contribute, donate, or sponsor the teen tour.
It didn’t happen fast enough and she ended up in a hotel with her kids for a whole week. Until God
reunited her with an amazing friend from her college days that believed in her vision, while giving
her & her kids a roof over their heads. He revived her spirit and her soul. No strings. No stress.
No hidden agendas. A wonderful man after God’s own heart!
Currently, Ms. Nikki is continuing the pursuit of this Godly vision by making the TV Teen Talk
Show a reality, but she needs YOUR HELP. For the first time, Ms. Nikki is opening up her life and
her heart to let her story bring the vision to reality.
