From all routes— take the A361 North Devon Link Road
towards Barnstaple. (J27 M5). Near South Molton, turn
onto the A399 to Blackmoor Gate and Combe Martin.
Location - Combe Martin has the longest village
street in England and the Wild Pear Centre is towards
the seaward end of it. Entering the village from the
East by car on the A399, you will pass the church down
a turning on your left (note the Cormelles car park sign
soon thereafter) and then the unmistakable Pack Oʼ
Cards Inn. Keep going for about a quarter mile and
the Wild Pear Centre is on your left, across the road
from the Saffron House guest house and opposite a high
stone wall and steps leading to public footpaths to the
Hangman Hills and Wild Pear Beach. There is also a
small stone plaque reading ʻAshramʼ to the right of the
door to the centre.
There is no parking at the centre but is within the village
and will cost no more than £4 for the weekend. Car
sharing is recommended if you are coming from the
same direction. Precise parking instructions will be
provided after you have registered
The weekend is planned to be relaxing and without much structure, giving you plenty of time to spend time either in your own company or with other members of the
group.
You will not be expected to participate in any group activities although these are provided to enhance the experience of
spending time with like minded people.
The aim is to connect with nature, the
environment and the real you!
Other activities not listed here may be provided or suggested, but the weekend
will definitely include the following:-
Costs (to include accommodation and all meals except
for lunch on Saturday and Sunday).
Early Bird (up to April 29th 2013) - £97.00
Standard Price (up to May 30th 2013) - £147.00
The Ki tchen
The large kitchen has two
cookers, two sinks and
plenty of crockery and
utensils. Tea and coffee

to make your own
drinks—or you may bring your own. All meals will

Sunday.

The Wild Pear Centre is a big, spacious place
hidden mysteriously behind two doors just off the
main street in the village of
Combe Martin, North Devon.
Previously used as an Ashram in
the 1960’s and having had various uses since, the
building offers a unique opportunity to live very
simply and in close harmony with fellow guests.
The open living and dining room provides a light
an airy space with four bedrooms offering shared
accommodation for two people each and an
open plan mezzanine floor for up to 8 further
guests. Bathrooms are shared and basic, but
warm and clean. This is not luxury living—it is
based around providing a bohemian experience
that enhances rather than detracts from your
stay. There is also a mediation room and plenty
of space to find
peace and quiet,
and the kitchen
provides a good
space for pre-
paring meals (all
of which are provided during your stay)
