The
RAYMOND ELK
FROM THE EXALTED RULER FROM THE SECRETARY
This will be my last message as your Exalted Ruler. I wish to thank all the officers and com-mittee persons for the
great job they did this past year. The Lodge couldn’t have sur-vived without you.
I also wish to thank all of you for retaining your membership in the order. Some of you are active in the social activities, some in the fraternal side. Some both. Still others are members in name only. But you all make up the nucleo-lus of our great order and Lodge and in your own way give sup-port.
Please give your new officers all the help you can, and offer your valuable time for them too.
Fraternally,
Bob Lowdermilk, Exalted Ruler
Here we are entering the final month of the Lodge year and getting ready to roll with the new year that begins
on April 1st. We still have some delinquent members out there that we would truly love to have pay their dues. Remember, once you are dropped from Member-ship you can’t come back into any Elks Lodge as a guest/visitor. I know that sounds coarse but it is a requirement that folks know that since that will avoid a very uncomfortable situ-ation.
We voted at the February 16th meeting on the fifty cent dues increase. Some folks thought it was fifty dollars and I looked over the notice again and those that thought it was a $50 increase just didn’t read the entire text. I know 50 cents is hardly worth the effort of changing things in the By-Laws but it is easier that handling all those quarters that were passing through the office once Grand Lodge lowered as-sessments by that same 50 cent margin.
Our annual Installation of offic-ers is on April 2nd and we have another steak night coming up on Friday the 4th.
Hope to see you at the Lodge soon!

“Our Kids”
Washington Elks Therapy Program for Children, Inc. Our State Major Project
A real "plus" for the Elks Therapy Program sessions being held in the home is showing parents how to use everyday household items as thera-py "tools" to help their children.
Two-year-old Angelito has mild cerebral palsy from being born three months prema-turely. A plastic tote is just the right size for him to pull up on or lean on
while pivoting from the sofa and standing while playing with toys. He is making real progress in learning to stand and walk on his own!
Sixteen-month-old Elyjah has a rare chromosomal disorder that causes low muscle tone and vision prob-lems. He is learning to sit up by himself and play with toys while his arms
are supported on a lap tray that is ordinarily used in bed
Parents are often surprised to find that expensive equipment and toys are not always needed for children to have fun and make progress in their development. Thanks to all the Elks Lodges for supporting this unique and appreciated therapy pro-gram for children!

YOUR lodge the best that it can be .
We can still use dinner volunteers, taco volunteers, dish-washer's and so much more.
I need to start working on a re-source list for all. I appreciate the suggestions we are getting. I do listen, just not to Joe. LOL.
