Dear Friends and Cattlemen:

We have been in the cattle breeding business for 25 years. It has

always been our dream to have our own production sale on our

home farm. We have participated in other production sales and

learned from each one. Now, with our inventory and quality where

we want it to be, we think we are ready to host you and to offer the

best of our breeding program up to you. September 29 will be land-

mark day for us for sure. Please accept this invitation to join us.

We have continually invested in top genetics across the country and

we believe our donor battery will rival the best; we have tested them

and proven their abilities. Our mating choices walk the line with

current EPD’s function and attractiveness. I am always thrilled to

see photos and hear stories of how well our cattle have done for our

valued customers from show winners to enhancing their herd. We are in the busi-

ness to make your herd better while we do the same in ours.

Last year we purchased the farm where we will hold the Rare Vintage Sale, and

we christened it with a gala event. My son, John Paul, married Holly Maldanodo

on the new farm and what an event it was. They proudly made me a grandfa-

ther on July 27, 2018 when Holly gave birth to Magnolia Belle Ferguson,

starting a new chapter in our lives. Lots of new things are happening around

here it seems.

As you know, it takes an army to raise cattle and prep for an auction like this.

A huge thank you goes out to my daughter Lindsey who stepped up in a tough

moment; anyone who has worked with family knows there can be tough mo-

ments. Also thanks to Pat and Cody Campbell who take care of the cows, manage the pro

p-

erty, and at a moment’s notice build about anything; they are indispensable. Zack Elliot h

as

made leaps and bounds from breaking calves to treating sick ones, and he recently com-

pleted AI training and then did a tremendous job his first go around. My stepdaughter Ch

ris-

ten Braat has recently joined us to work in the show barn and we excited to have her back

.

Together, we are very proud to present this exceptional group of cattle.

The Rare Vintage Sale gets its name for two reasons. (1) We think these cattle are rare, h

ard

to find, and very high quality. We are excited about the potential of each animal we are se

ll-

ing here, and a lot of thought and effort has gone into their development (2) Northeast Oh

io,

and especially our area, is home to some great wineries. In fact, the Geneva Grape Jamb

oree

will happen during the same weekend as our sale. It is a great festival with wine tasting,

music, and much more in a beautiful town on Lake Erie, just a few minutes from our farm.

Come to the sale. Come to the festival. Spend the weekend with us. You will not regret it!

Sincerely,John Ferguson

Ohio Junior Note: Please note that all of our heifer calves are eligible for the Best of the Buckeye breeders’ program.
