A long time ago, the jotnar (the jotnar are giants in Norse Mythology) were banished to

Jotunheim by the Aesir (Odin and Thor are probably the most well known in this group). The

!ing "i#er separates Jotunheim !rom Asgard. This ri#er will ne#er !ree$e be%ause o! its

mo#ements& its mo#ement makes it impossible to swim or !ord.

Thor was doing a hammer throw with some o! the other Aesir. 'ut Thor threw the

hammer too !ar and it went o#er the !ing ri#er, into Jotunheim. The silhouette o! a jotun was

seen taking the hammer (nlike the %omi% strip, anyone %ould li!t Thors hammer).

Asgard was in pani%. The Mjolnir was Asgards biggest de!ense against in#aders.

*Thor+ Odin %alled out. *-ome hither+ e seemed mad.

*/es !ather0 Thor replied.

*Organi$e a thing. All gods are re1uired to attend.

Odin pa%ed his room ner#ously, *ow are we suppose to prote%t Asgard without the

Mjolnir0 e asked his wi!e 2rigg.

n Jotunheim, 4uttungr just returned to pala%e with the Mjolnir.

There were 1uiet steps %oming towards the room, slowly getting louder.

*'e%ause he is the one to talk to the jotnar. Odin replied.

Then 6oki !lew o#er the !ing "i#er to see the king o! the jotnar, Thyrm.

The jotun 5eirrod saw the 6oki in the !al%on suit. :#en though he looked like a !al%on,

5eirrod knew that it wasnt a !al%on and he %aptured 6oki in a %age. e star#ed 6oki !or some

time be!ore 6oki re#ealed himsel!.

*ey, why arent you !eeding me0 6oki asked.

*4o, you arent a !al%on. 5eirrod replied.

*No, m 6oki+ 6oki yelled.

*3hy are you in a guise0 e asked.

*To get o#er here o! %ourse. 6oki had to hold ba%k so he wouldnt yell. *Now let me

6oki agreed and 5eirrod let him go. 3hen 6oki got to the !ing "i#er, he saw that only

Thor was there.

* think so. This jotun named 5eirrod will only gi#e it to you. also hear that he has two

daughters named 5jalp and 5reip.

Thor agreed to go to see 5eirrod. On his way, he met with 5ridr, who let them stay the

night. 5ridr warned Thor and 6oki about 5eirrod and lent Thor her belt and magi% sta!!.

That morning, Thor and 6oki %ontinued on their way to see 5eirrod. Thor, being a

simple;minded man, talked about seeing 5jalp and 5reip. 6oki had to keep reminding him o! his

mission.

6ater that day, they met up with 5eirrod and his daughters.

*6oki, Thor, youre here at last. was wondering i! you two were gonna make it.

5eirrod into the wall.

As Thor headed ba%k to get the magi% sta!!, 5eirrod was preparing another lump o! iron.

e threw it as Thor rea%hed the sta!!. The sta!! de!le%ted the iron lump and sent it ba%k towards

5eirrod, who was hiding behind a pillar. The iron lump went through the pillar, through the

jotuns head, through the wall, and into the ground outside.

The jotun !ell ba%k. is weight %aused the whole %astle to %rumble.

*3e need to get out o! here Thor+ 6oki whimpered as he !led.

*3ait up 6oki+ Thor %alled ba%k as he !ollowed 6oki.

They made it out just in time.

They de%ided to go to tgard, the stronghold o! Jotunheim. On their way, they met up

with Thial!i. At tgard they met up with tgard;6oki, the tri%kster jotun (like 6oki).

*None shall enter tgard without per!orming a !eat. tgard;6oki replied.

6oki was to eat a tren%her !ull o! meat be!ore his opponent 6ogi did. 6oki lost to 6ogi.

2reya sought out Thor and 6oki and told them what happened. Thor and 6oki

immediately le!t Jotunheim and headed towards Asgard.

A!ter the thing, Thor went to talk to dunns husband, 'ragi.

*ey, Thor. 'ragis !a%e was red, so were his eyes. t looked like he had just re%ently

%ried.
