Abstract The architectural and urban development leads to the emergence

of many problems the outstanding ones are linked with urban

transport and deserve mentioning in the traffic congestion. This

paper shows the stand on public transport parking problems

necessity of Central station parking by studying and analyzing

the current situation. To extract indicators that will help to put a

logical solutions whether are timely (short-term) and cheap, or

touches the future, long term and expensive. The paper also

found asset of recommendation that help to solve the problems

of public transport.

Keywords: Public Parking, Public Car, Longitude,

Latitude, GPS.

1. Introduction

Central station parking is the most important leg of the

position of public transport parking that linking

Khartoum North with the local area, But he became

suffers from many problems recently because of the

many changes have accompanied the general urban area,

Because of the sensitivity of the topic it had to be

addressed to it by this paper, (See Satellite Image number

(2), which describes the boundaries of the study area).

the Study Area

2. The Problem of the Study

Lack of organize and direct the cars in the entry

and exit to and from the parking.

Weakness in the efficiency and sufficiency of the

parking, functionally and artistically.

So many cars and parking is tight and crowded

with slums and peddlers.

3. Methods and Means

We use the descriptive analytical method with assistance,

the case study method, the previous studies , field surveys

- with a number of programmes - like (Auto cad, Gis,

Google earth) , and also was used the computer programs

as « acces, word, exel, power point ».

private parking , light is far 5 meters from the

asphalt road - no embankments - it's technical status

is good .

o Mazad Street: a secondary road (two directions) -

5. The Problems if Study :

No smooth flow of movement.

Visual pollution.

The streets and parking in the area of study Suffering

from the narrowness , thats due to the human activity

And also Peddlers and stalls at random.

Lack of (urban design) elements in study area Such

as (seating areas, umbrellas, landscaping, modern

lighting, etc ...).

The size and number of cars unsuitable with the

space and the size of the parking.

Unavailability of private parking.

Cars stopped incorrectly, especially on a side of

Maona Street exacerbating the traffic problem.

6. Discussion

After discussing problems of the preview study, we

reached at logical solutions :

6.1 Now - Future "Recent solutions are easy in

execution - simple - not costive:

remove stalls and adjust the peddlers in the study

area.

providing private parking in front of the institutions

and shops and on the sides of roads in the study area.

direct Haj Yousif and Jeref cars in to the East

instead of the West, to reduce congestion.

providing (light panel) contain a minimum of

information (No. parking, the lines that serves

parking, etc.) , So that the light panel rising from the

embankments level (2.50 m) width (45 cm) and

length (65 cm).

paving pedestrian entrances and exits, and identify

their direction and painting lines on the floor of the

situation periodically.

provide services in the study areaespecially the

Office of cars lines (Trahin), That the responsibility

of the office is a management and controling acar

traffic at the entry and exit of the study area, In

addition to supervision of the maintenance of the

parking and providing requirements needed to run it

best.

6.2 In case that these solutions are not efficient

we think in the complicated solutions that need

constructions treatment that contain :

o design parking similar system of longitudinal parking

of heavy weights , Entrance and exit of the parking

(width 12 meters) - The path specified for the

direction of travel (width 4 meters). o divide the position to 7 trails, single track capacity of

10 large buses every half hour.

o Removal of the shops that require external display of

goods, and keep the ones that display goods within

the confines of the shop. o provision the elements of Urban Design (such as

seating areas, umbrellas, landscaping, lighting etc

...). And the following designs shows the proposal layout

parking cars.

7. Recommandations

We also recommend to :

revision of the traffic by laws and analyzing the

weakness and strength in them to match with the

urban expansion.

development of the public transport to cope with the

modern application and the practical needs of the city

public transport has a big role to reduce traffic.

seperation of pedestrians and traffic movment to

achieve safety.

8. Conclusion

This short study conclude a number of solutions that

contribute activity in solving traffic problems, specially

The Public transport parking problems in the (Central

Station) – in kherthom North- the Republic of Sudan,

This leads to save effort and increase production.
