Trail Area Health & Environment Program 2010 Dear Residents of Greater Trail On behalf of the Trail Health & Environment Committee, I am pleased to welcome you to the 2010 public consultation on the Trail Area Health & Environment Program (THE Program). THE Program has been going for over 20 years and has made great results, improving the environment and reducing smelter emissions and children’s blood lead levels. It’s time to set new health goals and revamp program activities. Public participation is key to our success. The community helps set the blood lead and air emissions goals, and helps us make THE Program the best it can be. There are two phases of consultation. Phase 1 focuses on family health, home & garden, and air quality program areas. A second phase is planned for the fall, covering the entire THE Program including plans developed from Phase 1. Phase 1 starts today. You can get more information on our new website: www.thep.ca, or at the Community Program Office at 1319 Bay Avenue. We need your participation to continue our success safeguarding health and the environment. By telling us what you think, you are contributing to the community. And you might win a prize. Thank you for getting involved! Sincerely, Dieter Bogs, Chair COMMUNITY NEWSLETTER Public Consultation Launch SPRING 2010
