A good slidecan’t standon its own.

Upon signing up for the Delta Middle School “LIFT”program, I was told the first day would be anorientation day, where I would be told the rules andexpectations of the program. I’ll admit I was nervousin expectation for the program and my role in it andwhether I’d be able to “hack-it’ for lack of a betterphrase.

It would be my first time tutoring, and to compoundmatters and add to my already nagging self-doubt, Iwould be tutoring sixth, seventh, and eight graderswho were having trouble with math. Numbers hauntmy nightmares, and math has always been my worstsubject. So would I be able to help these kids? WouldI be of any service? Or would I be just as stumped asthey?
