SESSION 2019 – 20
As a learning-focused school, all our decisions & all of our efforts are put in to improve learning & to provide
what is best for our learners. The pursuit of excellence encouraged at DPS rests on the positive belief that every
child has it in him or her to produce work, the quality of which can be described as first-class.
Our vision emphasizes the fact that learning is reflected in both achievement & growth. At school we promote a
spirit of enquiry, to foster a scientific temper within the bonds of humanism. This scientific aptitude is brought
to recognition by our school team, by winning the second prize in the C.B.S.E Cluster Meet Science Project
Competition (Junior Category). Our girls Ishika Rawat & Aliya Khan were guided by our science faculty in
bagging this recognition.
Another moment of pride was our Grade VIII boy Zaheer Ul Islam bagging the Sastra Prathiba Award–which is
organized by Science India Forum of Saudi Arabia & National Science Movement of India.
DPS offers a broad range of academic program with a strong emphasis on developing excellent communication
& writing skills in English, Mathematics, Arts & Science. A very proof of this is our school grooming students
like Aminah Nimah, who bagged the Best Speaker Award among India Schools in KSA and Ms Sameera Parkar
who won the first prize in Essay writing competition organized by the AMUAA, Riyadh.
Focusing on the development of the Mathematical & Scientific front, numerous exams are conducted at our
school. One such is the National Olympiad Exam; here we have students from grade 1–10 appearing for Maths
& Science out of which nearing 200 students have scored 90 and above& several cent per cent achievers.
The organizer Mr. Saad Khalid has been felicitated as the Best organizing teacher for the last academic year.
The Olympiad Association has duly honoured our Principal Mr. Mairaj Mohammad Khan with “Principal of
Principal Award” for his significant contribution towards the excellent performance by the participants.
Coming to our academic achievements, our Grade XII has proudly bagged a cent per cent result with our school
toppers scoring 94.2 per cent in the Science stream.
We have 6 of our students scoring 95 in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. Our student Ms. Juhaina scored 98
in Biology, while Ayush Mathur scored 96 in Physical Education; Rehan Hussain scored 96 in Computer
Science & so on.
Moving to our Grade X results, we are proud to say we once again bagged a 100% result, our topper being
Falaq Paloji with a 97.2% out of our 64 students appeared 23 have scored above 90%.
However, we also know that measures of school effectiveness & learning are far more comprehensive than the
information given. Those measures include a holistic look at our school & students, such as classroom-based
assessments; participation in extra & co-curricular activities; graduation rates; attendance; discipline; social–
emotional development; wellness & more.
Our school has a strategic plan for the holistic development of our students through various events.
Framing our mission to drive in action in the classroom, we have weekly based speaking & listening skill
enhancement sessions for all the language subjects; laboratory experiments to smart class activities for the
scientific outlook. We also keep a regular watch on the development & improvement of our students through
our weekly Monday Test concept. We have 4 Monday tests in a month for 10 marks; this helps the teacher &
the parent to keep a constant watch on the academic improvement of the student.
Whereas to, boosting our student’s confidence no other school in Riyadh provides such innumerable
extracurricular activities as DPS from the very beginners of Pre-Nursery to our Grade XII students have
activities from individual speaking to group activities, such as dramas, skit, singing, dancing, recitation to
debates to extemporary etc.
DPS is only one of its kind, where a student gets in as naïve and goes out as a professional. This is all possible
because of the well planned out the academic year. Our focus being collectively on overall development, we do
not miss out the physical development, which encourages a confident persona of the student. We have a
noteworthy Basketball Team who have gathered fame & appreciation by the spectators.
They have proudly represented the school in the Clusters etc. Our students have brought laurels in various
events from athletics to game events.
We have students who have brought in medals in short put, long jump and so on.
DPS keeps the parents well informed through regular parent–teacher interactive sessions. Here there is a free
one–to–one discussion and analysis of the wards performance and scope of improvements are discussed and
measures required to be implemented for the overall development.
Parents of DPS, look forward to these interactive sessions as we are a patient listener to the queries & concern
they administer and we in return assure with remedial measures from student counselling to motivation in a
particular subject.
At DPS we work with the motto Service Before Self; which we not only advocate but also implement.
