Johan Norberg Swedish Author

Johan Norberg is an author, lecturer and documentary filmmaker who specializes in the big questions, from liberty and progress to entrepreneurship, globalization and the hidden dichotomies shaping the world. He is a native of Sweden, a Senior Fellow at the Cato Institute in Washington D.C. and the European Centre for International Political Economy in Brussels. He is a frequent commentator in Swedish and international media. In 2018 he received the Walter Judd Freedom Award, previously awarded to luminaries such as Garry Kasparov and Ronald Reagan.

Norberg has written 20 books covering a broad range of topics, including global economics and popular science. The breakthrough came with In Defence of Global Capitalism (2003), published in more than 25 countries.

His most recent book, the celebrated Progress: Ten Reasons to Look Forward to the Future (2016) was chosen as the Book of the Year by The Economist, Guardian and Observer. It has been translated to 20 languages (so far).

Johan Norberg regularly writes and hosts documentaries on development, economics and current affairs, in most cases for American television, including Overdose: The Next Financial Crisis, Power to the People, Free or Equal and Economic Freedom in Action: Changing Lives. His latest documentary is Sweden: Lessons for America? about how others can learn from the success and mistakes of his native country.

For his international work, Johan Norberg has received the Distinguished Sir Antony Fisher Memorial Award from the American Atlas Foundation, and the gold medal from the German Hayek Stiftung, that year shared with former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

Carl Bildt Former Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Sweden

Carl Bildt has served in international functions with the EU and UN, primarily related to the conflicts in the Balkans. He was Co-Chairman of the Dayton peace talks on Bosnia and become the first High Representative in the country. Later, he was the Special Envoy of UN Secretary General Kofi Annan to the region.

After stepping down as leader of the Moderate Party of Sweden in 1999 and leaving Parliament in 2000 he was also engaged in corporate boards in Sweden and the US as well as different international think-tanks.

Returning as Foreign Minister of Sweden in 2006, he come to be seen as one of the most

prominent and vocal of European foreign ministers during those years. He was one of the initiators of EU:s Eastern Partnership, and pushed the EU forward also on issues of the Middle East.

Currently he is Co-Chair of the European Council on Foreign Relations, contributing columnist to Washington Post as well as monthly columnist for Project Syndicate. He recently chaired the Global Commission on Internet Governance. He serves as one of the Senior Advisors to the Wallenberg Foundations in Sweden and is on the Board of Trustees of the RAND Corporation in the US.

Robert (Bob) E. Moritz Global Chairman PwC

Bob Moritz is Global Chairman of PwC. Prior to taking on the global role, Bob led the US firm of PwC as its Chairman and Senior Partner. During his seven year tenure, the US firm focused on increasing quality service, enhancing the collective reputation of the PwC Network through talent development and capabilities expansion, growing profitably, and championing diversity and inclusion efforts.

Bob has been with PwC his entire career, joining in 1985 and becoming a partner in 1995. He has an Audit and Assurance background, primarily dealing with financial services, banking, and capital markets clients. During the course of

his career, Bob spent three years with PwC Japan, working with European and US-based financial services companies operating in Asia.

PwC is a founding member of the UN’s HeforShe 10x10x10 Impact Champions network. Bob is also a trustee of The Conference Board, a member of the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy, and a director of the SUNY-Oswego College Foundation, his alma mater. Bob recently completed two terms as the chairman of the Governing Board for the Center for Audit Quality, a non-partisan and non-profit group dedicated to enhancing investor confidence and public trust in the global capital markets.

Keren Elazari Cyber Security analyst and senior researcher, Tel Aviv University

Keren Elazari is a globally recognized security researcher, author and strategic analyst. Her independent research work and writing about emerging security issues has been featured by TED, Scientific American, WIRED, Financial Times and more. Keren holds an MA in Security Studies from Tel Aviv University where she is a senior researcher at the Balvatnik Interdisciplinary Cyber Research Center, focusing on the complex relationships between hackers, industry and government, and a guest faculty member at

Singularity University in California. In 2014, Keren became the first Israeli woman to speak at the annual TED conference. Keren’s TED talk about the role of hackers has been viewed by millions, translated to 30 languages and selected for TED’s list of ‘Most Powerful Ideas ‘. Keren is also the founder of Israel’s largest hacker community event – BSidesTLV – and the co-author of the “Women in Tech”, Amazon bestseller, published in 2016.

Jacob Wallenberg Chairman Investor

Jacob Wallenberg is Chair of Investor AB since 2005 and Vice Chair of ABB, Ericsson, FAM and Patricia Industries. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Nasdaq, The Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, Tsinghua School of Economics Advisory board and the Steering Committee European Round Table of Industrialists. He is also Honorary Chair of IBLAC (Mayor of Shanghai’s International Business Leaders Advisory Council).

Prior to becoming Chair of Investor AB, Jacob Wallenberg primarily spent his career in finance where he worked at a number of international banks before joining SEB where he held various

posts in Sweden and internationally in Singapore, Hong Kong, London and New York. After assuming the role as Executive Vice President and CFO of Investor AB in 1991, he returned to SEB in 1993 and was appointed CEO in 1997 and Chair of the Board in 1998 until 2005.

Jacob also has extensive board and industry experience as he has been Vice Chair of Atlas Copco, Investor, Stora and SAS as well as a member of the Board of Directors of The Coca-Cola Company, Electrolux, Stora, WM-data, Stockholm School of Economics and the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.

Cecilia Malmström Former European Commissioner for Trade

She partly grew up in France. She has studied French literature at Sorbonne University, Paris, political science, development studies and international relations at Göteborg University in Sweden. She presented her Ph.D. thesis in Political Science at Göteborg University in April 1998. The subject of the thesis was regionalist parties in Europe, focusing on Spain and Italy. (Makten, regionen och härligheten. Regionala partier i Europa. SNS Förlag 1998) In parallel with the studies, she has also lectured and done research at the same institution. The topics have covered different aspects of European politics, migration, terrorism etc.

Apart from the academic work she has also worked as a technical assistant at SKF in Paris, Stuttgart and Barcelona, as an assistant psychiatric nurse at Lillhagens mentalsjukhus and as a teacher in social sciences at Lindholmen Komvux.

Her political career started in Göteborg as a member of the Liberal party. She was the

vice chair of the municipal immigration committee and was later elected as a member of the Regional Assembly of Västra Götaland. Member of the liberal party executive committee for many years and vice chair of the party 2007-2010. She was elected to the European Parliament in 1999, reelected in 2004 but left in 2006 to serve as Minister of European Affairs in the Swedish government. In 2010, she was appointed Commissioner for Home affairs in the European Commission, Brussels and served as European Union Commissioner for Trade 2014-2019.

Since January 2020 she is Assar Gabrielsson visiting professor at Göteborg School of Economics at Göteborg University, Sweden

Cecilia Malmström speaks Swedish, English, French and Spanish and has a fair understanding of German and Italian. She has published books and academic articles on European Politics, Spanish and Italian politics, Migration issues etc.

Niklas Adalberth Founder & Executive Chairman, Norrsken Foundation

Niklas Adalberth co-founded unicorn payment company Klarna 2005. More than ten years later he left his operational role as deputy CEO to found tech-for-good Norrsken Foundation. Norrsken invests in entrepreneurs that

tackles the biggest problems in society. In addition to investments, Norrsken opened the largest co-working space in Europe for people that tries to improve the world with over 350 members.

Linus Kullänger Co-founder & CEO, Care to Translate

Linus Kullänger is a medical student at Karolinska Institutet. He has a broad experience of working with and leading non-profit organizations working with public health. Since 2018,

he is the founder and CEO of Care to Translate, who is making healthcare more equal by tearing down language barriers with a digital translator application.

Sofia Svanteson Co-founder & CEO, Elsa Science

Sofia is the co-founder and CEO of Elsa Science with the mission to transform healthcare and selfcare for the chronically ill. She is a serial entrepreneur with a strong belief that with “design thinking” and digitalization we can improve the society for the better. She

used to run the innovation agency Ocean Observations with offices in Stockholm and Tokyo, she is a former Brilliant Minds speaker and the European Commission has named her a role model for young women to choose an education in technology.

Anders Forslund Founder & CEO, Heart Aerospace

Anders Forslund is the founder and CEO of Heart Aerospace, a Swedish startup developing an electric regional airplane. The plane, called the ES-19, will seat 19 passengers and have a 400km range. The goal is to have the aircraft certified for passenger transport by 2025. The company was in the Y combinator accelerator program in 2019, and investors include EQT ventures and

Norrsken Foundation. Airlines such as SAS, BRA, Wideroe and Pascan have all signed letters of interest for the planes.

Anders has a Ph.D. in aerospace product development from Chalmers, and a masters in astronautics from Cranfield University. He developed an interest in electric aviation while being a visiting scholar at MIT in 2013–2014.

Robert Falck Founder & CEO, Einride

Robert Falck is the CEO and founder of Einride, a tech start-up bent on the sustainable transformation of the transportation industry, developing an intelligent road freight system based on all-electric, autonomous trucks, or Pods. Before founding Einride in 2016, Mr. Falck was a director of manufacturing engineering assembly at Volvo GTO Powertrain. A serial entrepreneur, he is a

co-founder of Vnu, a nightclub business intelligence solution, The Great Wild, a hunting app, and Keyflow, an event service platform.

Mr. Falck holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, a B.Sc. in Economics and finance, and a B.Sc. in Business.

Peter Carlsson Founder & CEO, Northvolt

Peter Carlsson is the CEO and founder of Northvolt. He left the position as CPO and Head of Supply Chain at Tesla Motors in the end of 2015 to become an entrepreneur, advisor and angel investor. In 2016 Peter founded Northvolt with the mission to build Europe’s largest lithium-ion battery factory.

Before joining Tesla, Peter was the CPO for NXP (former Philips Semiconductors) responsible

for purchasing and outsourcing. Located in Singapore, he was country manager for Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines. Before starting at NXP, Peter was CPO at Sony Ericsson since 2005. Peter had a total of 13 years experience from different roles with Ericsson and Sony Ericsson. He has a Masters degree with specialization in production and quality control at Luleå Technical University in Sweden.

Peter Clemedtson has been CEO and Territory Senior Partner of PwC Sweden. He has more than 30 years’ experience of professional services with major Swedish clients. He is the Lead Audit Partner for Nordea and SKF.

Mr. Clemedtson has, during many years, been active in driving the profession’s strategic agenda and has been Chairman of FAR, the

organisation for the Audit and Advisory Profession in Sweden. Board Member of ICC, International Chamber of Commerce, and has been a Board Member of the Association for Generally Accepted Principles in the Securities Market.

Peter Nyllinge CEO, PwC Sweden

Peter Nyllinge is an Authorised Public Accountant, Authorised Financial Analyst and Licentiate of Economics. He is the Lead Audit Partner for Sandvik and Svensk Exportkredit. Mr. Nyllinge’s specialisation is to lead audit

and advisory work for large multinational companies. He has extensive experience of M&A Advisory, business valuations, long-term incentive programmes, due diligence and fraud investigations.

Sofia Götmar-BlomstedtPwC Sweden

Sofia Götmar-Blomstedt is an Authorised Public Accountant working with auditing and consulting services provided to major international, listed companies, as well as medium and large, primarily, family-owned, companies.

Sofia has for several years been the Territory Assurance Leader of the PwC Sweden and this year she also has the role as Deputy Assurance Leader for EMEA territory. From June 2020 Sofia will be the new CEO of PwC Sweden.

Johan Rippe Deputy CEO, PwC Sweden

Johan Rippe is an Authorised Public Accountant working with the audit of multinational companies such as Handelsbanken, Getinge, Stena and Lundin Petroleum. He has also worked as an advisor in a variety of contexts, based on his extensive knowledge of listing requirements,

corporate governance and financial reporting matters. Mr. Rippe has for many years been active in driving the profession’s strategic agenda and is the Chairman of FAR, the professional institute for the audit profession in Sweden.
