Dear Parents & Carers, Welcome to the Week 4 edition of the newsletter! What a fantastic fortnight of work we have achieved as we move to remote and flexible learning. As has been mentioned in the last newsletter, the Victorian Government directive is that: All students who can learn at home must learn from home. This is a very clear directive from the advice of the Chief Health
Officer.
All staff at Quarry Hill Primary would like to thank the students & their families for their persistence & patience in adapting to this new way of learning. There have been different challenges that arise, however we have been astounded at the kindness that has been shown whilst working through these. Please enjoy some amazing results from the last fortnight & some great ideas & tips.

NEWS FROM THE P/1 CLASSROOMS This week in Remote Learning the P/1 students have been learning about fiction texts and nonfiction (factual) texts. They went on a scavenger hunt of their bookshelves and grouped their books accordingly. Super work for these three happy curious learners in Room 1, 2 & 8 who challenged each other! Shylah left nonfiction. Ryder middle fiction. Ariah right fiction. They wrote the signs themselves!
The P/1s have also been learning about Earthworms in their Minibeast Inquiry and how important they are in keeping the soil healthy for plants. Alby: “Dad and I got the worm farm going on the weekend so that we can make worm juice for the plants”
Patrick P/1 was super proud of his maths work – as he worked independently, being brave and curious.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK CLUB
In these unprecedented times we’re all being asked to
change the way we work and live. Our tradition of putting
books into the hands of kids isn’t going to change, but for
Term 2, we're doing things a little differently. Book club
can still be ordered by going online at: https://scholastic.com.au/book-club/virtual-catalogue-1/ This is an online ordering and payment system. No payments will be accepted at the school. Payment is made online and delivery is to be your home address. No books will be sent to the school.

physically isolated from family members, friends, colleagues and support networks.
The internet is a great way to socialise, learn, work, play and be entertained. But there
are also risks.
So eSafety is adding new content every day to help you stay safe online.

Remote Learning Ideas &
‘Tips’
Introduce regular, tiny bits of
movement into your day
Wear runners at home so your spine is supported
Set up your work space in a warm area. Being cold is a huge reason why muscles get unnecessarily sore.
If possible, stand while on Webex lessons, although sitting is better for some, go with your gut instinct.
