Hospital adviser
Based on the possessed knowledge on the healthcare provider market and the many-year experience in organising hospital
treatment for our patients, we offer the persons referred to the hospital consultancy in obtaining hospital benefits. We have
24-hour specialised hotline kept by medical professionals, providing information concerning the organisation of hospital
admissions, under both benefits funded publicly and those financed commercially. Owing to the knowledge base of hospitals
and one-day-surgery centres, we provide current information on the possibilities of receiving treatment funded by the National
Health Fund – NFZ (waiting time, essential requirements for referrals) and the available alternative commercial options
(approximate treatment costs). The above provide the basis for rational selection of recommended hospital treatment
performance.
In cases of possessed right to procedures or hospital treatment under the contract, the hotline staff checks what procedures
may be performed under the possessed contract, and then helps to set the qualification consultation and the therapeutic
procedure itself.
The service is performed in partner facilities of LUX MED Group situated in the main polish agglomeration
SERVICE DESCRIPTION
Professional 24-hour medical
hotline for hospitalisations
24/7 medical hotline servicing patient reports, maintained by experienced medical
professionals (nurses/paramedics/ dispatchers)
Information, history taking
The hotline employee takes from the caller the medical history of medical need,
complaint and treatment requirements. It is determined what medical documentation
the patient possesses, in particular whether the patient has a referral.
Information on possible
approaches
Based on the obtained information, the hotline employee informs the patient,
in a comprehensible manner, of the possible mode of receiving benefits
(e.g. the hospital treatment requires a valid referral from specialist clinic
or qualification consultation). They also provide information on the most likely needed
additional consultations preceding hospital treatment, and give answers to questions.
If needed, the hotline employee consults with a physician on the recommendations
for further approach.
In case of doubts – assistance in
determining the medical
examination
In the event of need for assessment of patient’s health condition in medical
examination for the purposes of precise determination of the scope of the treatment
required,
the hotline employee suggests a visit at a specialist of appropriate field of medicine
at LUX MED.
Information on hospitals
Information on approximate
treatment costs
Information on recommendations
before procedures
The hotline employee provides information on possible sites of providing
the benefits, at a convenient place close to patient’s place of residence, under benefits
funded publicly (under an NFZ contract) and in a chargeable mode.
In the case of choosing the treatment for a fee, the hotline employee informs
the patient on the approximate treatment costs possible to estimate based
on the provided information.
The hotline employee informs the patient of the typical recommendations preceding
the planned procedures (e.g. the need for vaccinations or diagnostic tests).
Emergency cases
In the event where the medical history indicates the need for emergency medical
intervention. The hotline employee may suggest a home visit by a physician
or may inform the patient of the need for calling an ambulance or immediate reporting
to the hospital emergency department.
Knowledge base of medical
facilities providing given
treatment
The LUX MED experts monitor on an ongoing basis the hospitals in the whole country
in terms of provided treatment, used methods, and innovations and implemented
improvements. Owing to the above, we may professionally suggest a facility
particularly specialised in the treatment of a given complaint or in the performance of a
given type of procedure.
We have a current and professionally verified knowledge base of hospital services
and specialists who will help to suggest the most appropriate centre for a given
medical problem.
Treatment under NFZ and
commercially
We provide information on facilities offering given treatment or diagnostics,
and on whether the benefits are provided commercially, under an NFZ contract
or in both modes.
We provide information on the availability of overstandard benefits, such as single
rooms, availability of childbirth anaesthesia, etc.
Availability of extra-standard

Ambulance Intervention
Using the services of the emergency ambulance team
is possible in the case of sudden illnesses or accidents.
A sudden illness is a condition characterised by sudden
or imminent appearance of health deterioration symptoms
the direct consequence of which may be serious damage
to a body function or bodily injury or death, requiring
immediate medical rescue intervention and treatment.
The decision of dispatching the sanitary ambulance is
made each time by the Dispatcher after a conversation
with the Patient or his/her family. Depending
on the circumstances, the service may be provided
by an internal intervention team, a cooperating team,
or a team of the State Emergency Medical Service System.
The medical team, equipped with specialist means
of transport, medical equipment and drugs enabling
the initiation of medical emergency procedures in the case
of a health emergency, provides medical aid (depending
on the Agreement provisions) at the Client’s registered
office, at locations agreed with the Client or/and within
the area precisely described at www.luxmed.pl,
and if examinations or tests are necessary, transports
the Patient to a LUX MED centre or to the nearest hospital
in the case of a life-threatening condition. This service does
not replace the services provided within the State
Emergency Medical Service System, this service
is unlimited.
