MARIAN the place to be

Marian is the place to be.

in a black and white world.

From your first day of freshman year to the last

words of your senior Field Day demo, Marian is the place to form lasting

relationships and discover your dreams.

The place to be

The Place to be Loved: During the Sign of Peace at Mass, Shayla Taute [16] and Sydney Miller [16] give each other a big hug. Girls embrace the idea of Marian sisterhood at Mass by hugging instead of handshakes. This is one of the most beloved traditions at Marian.

involved. From crossing the finish line of your first Cross

Country meet to jumping in Lake Cunningham for Polar Plunge in 12 degree weather, girls are able to

follow their passions through their

extracurricular activities. Through these sports, clubs and

organizations, students can develop their talents and minds

outside of the classroom. Girls learn through

perseverance and hard work that they can accomplish their goals

by using their gifts. Involvement in extracurricular activities creates memories and

friendships that will stand the test of time.

“The softball team really is a family. Being involved in something so special gives myself and my teammates a place

to belong.” Kellyn Daly [16]

Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend: Lifting the trophy high in the air, the softball team rejoices as they win the school’s first soft-ball State Championship. The girls worked hard to have a winning year placed on the banner.

“Marian is the place to be fully yourself. Coming into Marian, I thought the juniors and seniors were practically adults, never imagining that I would one day be as confident and comfortable as they

were. My experience as a leader at Freshman Retreat this year showed me how much Marian has inspired me to transform into one of those confident, comfortable,

(almost) grown-up Marian girls.”Rachel Walet [17]

Marian is the place to be inspired. From counting

rubber bands for the freshman Bungee Barbie math project to singing their class song at Mass, the girls create a deeper bond. Over the four years, students discover that they can rely on

one another as not only classmates to learn with, but

sisters to learn from. The members of this sisterhood motivate each other to reach success by sharing ideas and

life lessons. Through the inspiration gained from faculty

and students, Marian girls acquire wisdom, memories,

and a sisterly bond that will last forever.

Strolling Down Memory Lane: During Walk-A-Thon, students take apleasant walk on a beautiful “Steptember” day around campus. The student body came together to break previous fundraising records. The money raised for Walk-A-Thon helps ensure that Marian remains a beautiful place to be.

What was your favorite memory of Senior Retreat?

“My favorite experience at retreat was the small group activities. Due to the atmosphere, I got to experience the game, down by the banks, in a unique way with my

classmates.” Madi Golden [16]

“This one time I took a shower after my PE class. I had study hall, so I just brought my soap and stuff and spent like a half hour in there. It was nice because my family wasn’t there to yell at me to get out.”

Hannah Saalfeld [16]

“My favorite part about accounting is that all of the work is online, and Mr. Panning does an awesome job of explaining everything in a way that’s easy to understand.” Ella Wente [17]

“Honors Independent research is a really unique class. You can’t just ask the teacher, ‘Is this right?’ because they don’t know either. You really become the expert on whatever topic you choose to research.” Nithali Sridhar [16]
