DESCRIPTION

On The Field Continued The adjustment I used to improve this picture include; brightness, contrast, adjusting the levels, and adding more vibrance and possibly decreasing the saturation. The mood in this picture is calm, relaxed, it’s just an early morning and your getting ready to start your day, or it’s the evening and your setting down and relaxing after a long day.

The Photographer in Me Sierra Mo Hurt 2015 Per. 2 On The Field This picture was taken with my Canon PowerShot at Souths football field on 3/30/15. This picture is just an architecture shot; featuring the field, the stands, our personal buses, and the gym building. The composition of this picture has lighting with the natural light spots, leading line with the fence post and the dashed line going through the field, rule of thirds is followed, the buses line up with the stands to form a horizon line, and theres grouping with the buses. If I could change anything about this picture, I would love to not have such an ugly building in the background and move that truck thats parked in my shot. On The Field Continued The adjustment I used to improve this picture include; brightness, contrast, adjusting the levels, and adding more vibrance and possibly decreasing the saturation. The mood in this picture is calm, relaxed, its just an early morning and your getting ready to start your day, or its the evening and your setting down and relaxing after a long day. Running From Real Football Players This picture was taken by my Canon PowerShot on Souths football field on 5/4/15. This picture is a portrait shot with a little man as a prop; featuring Carlee. The composition elements included in this shot are; balance, lighting, selective focus, horizon line that basically frames her upper half, and rule of thirds even though she is in the middle, your focusing on the man or her face which is outside of that middle zone. If I could change this shot, I would have her change shoes and tilt the helmet up so we can see her eyes but maybe not because that smirk is kind of emphasized since you cant see her face. Running From Real Football Players The edits I made to this shot include brightening her a slight bit, adding contrast, adjusting the levels, and a little bit of vibrance. The mood portrayed in this picture, is a strong sense of confidence, power, knowing she has the ability to take him (the other team) down. Paradise Pier I took this shot down at Disneyland with my Canon PowerShot on 4/20/15. This picture is, in a way, both an architecture and a landscape shot. I had to wait until just the right time to shoot when the roller coaster was exactly where I wanted it to be. The composition elements featured in this photo include; leading lines, balance, rule of thirds, contrast, textures, lighting, grouping, and almost framing. With all these elements, this picture is probably my best photograph Ive taken so far. Something I wish I could do to change this picture is; move everybody out of the shot, yes the people add to the craziness of Disneyland, but I would rather just focus on the beauty of Disneyland. Paradise Pier Continued The Photoshop edits I made to this picture would include; a slight brightness increase along with some contrast, and a little tiny bit of vibrance increase. The mood in this picture shows a sense of a calm, fun, sunny day riding rides towards the top of the picture. But towards the bottom if you look closely; youll see all the people and if youve been to Disneyland you know the feeling of madness and you might get that mood from the picture. Let Yourself Laugh I captured this moment, with my Canon PowerShot, in California of our state coordinator Wendy, Jazmin, and Karaline laughing at something Wendy is showing them on her phone, while we wait to be seated at the Playground. Some elements of this portrait include, grouping of the three of them, rule of thirds, except her phone is kind of in the middle, theres balance, and some lighting in the back. If I could change this moment, I would have them turn and sit on the other side so the setting sun would lighten their faces up more directly. Let Yourself Laugh The edits I made to this shot would include brightness, contrast, levels, and maybe a little too much vibrance. Wendy was a little sun burnt and adding the vibrance didnt help to hide it, but it was needed to make the girls dresses pop. The mood of this photo is happiness, being cheerful, a sense of being together as friends and having a good time. Baseball 101 I shot this picture on Souths football field in 5/8/15 with my Canon PowerShot during our sports photo shoot. The composition elements featured in this shot include; lighting majorly, balance, selective focus, leading lines of the sun rays and the shadows, and a horizon line. If I were to take this shot again, I would maybe move the ball so the stands arent in the background, just the field. Also my ball is in the smack- dab middle of my shot, I tried cropping it so it was off to the side but I liked it in the middle best; Im a rule breaker. Baseball 101 The adjustments I made to this picture include brightness since the ball was shadowed a lot because the sun was directly on the other side, contrast, levels, and obviously I desaturated the photo. There isnt an exact mood that comes screaming off the picture, it would vary if the person played baseball or grew up around baseball, then to someone who has nothing to with baseball ever in their life. In general, the mood is peaceful and quiet. As a Photographer I feel that my pictures only represent part of the type of photographer I am. The ones shown tell you that I enjoy taking calm, relaxed pictures. I would love to take more scenery and landscape shots and capture moments where everything is just right. Im only just beginning my adventure into the photography world. My favorite kind of photos that I love most to take are nature shots. These are two examples of my favorite nature pictures Ive taken. The snail I captured in Disneyland while we were waiting for the rest of our group to arrive. The wish weed I shot was growing out by the Howard Street parking lot. The pictures I didnt really enjoy taking were the pictures of the back of South, Its so ugly and boring, the walls are blank, thats like taking a picture of a blank piece of paper, whats the point?
