MEMBERSHIP FAQs

Membership DuesM e m b e r s h i p F A Q s

What do my membership dues pay for?The members of The Philadelphia Cricket Club Board of Governors are committed to providing preeminent recreational and social experiences for the Club’s members, their families and friends by maintaining exceptional standards in its facilities, programs, services and professional staff. Membership dues pay for the operating and capital expenses related to maintaining those exceptional standards. In 2020, 91.4% of dues will be operating dues, specifically allocated to operating costs that support the daily member experience, and 8.6% of dues will be capital dues, allocated to capital expenses such as facility preservation, modernization, and reinvention. The Club makes this differentiation between operating and capital dues to demonstrate that all members are stewards of the Club who contribute toward its present and future needs.

What are the membership dues payment terms?Members may elect monthly, quarterly or annual billing for membership dues. If no election is made, the default will be quarterly dues billing. Monthly dues billing requires automated payment via ACH or credit card payments.

8

Capital Entrance FeeM e m b e r s h i p F A Q s

What does my capital entrance fee pay for?The Club is committed to maintaining exceptional standards in its facilities, and all members contribute toward the present and future needs of the Club. In addition to capital dues, new members commit to stewardship of the Club with a capital entrance fee, which is earmarked for capital expenses such as facility preservation, modernization, and reinvention. As the oldest country club in the United States, The Philadelphia Cricket Club is a community and facility that must be cared for. The capital entrance fee is a new member’s opportunity to recognize the Club’s history and commit to its present and future.

What are the capital entrance fee payment terms? The capital entrance fee is payable via two equal annual installments, with the first installment due upon election to membership and the second installment due on a member’s one-year anniversary, as well as monthly payments for ten years beginning in the member’s first month of membership. Alternatively, members can pay off the entire capital entrance fee with an upfront payment, billed via four quarterly installments within the member’s first year of membership.

9

Capital Entrance Fee cont.M e m b e r s h i p F A Q s

Is the capital entrance fee refundable? Is there an additional bond for golf membership? The capital entrance fee is non-refundable. There is no additional bond.

I am under 36 years old and joining in one of the younger age brackets. Am I responsible for additional capital entrance fee payments as I move into older age brackets? No. Your capital entrance fee is locked in when you join. There is no additional capital entrance fee as you move into older age brackets.

If I inactivate my membership within 10 years of joining, am I responsible for the remainder of unpaid capital entrance fee monthly payments? No. Members are only responsible for payment of the capital entrance fee while they are active members. There is no continued obligation as an inactive member.

10

Food MinimumM e m b e r s h i p F A Q s

What is the purpose of a food minimum? The food minimum at The Philadelphia Cricket Club serves two primary purposes: to encourage members to dine at the Club, and to ensure a revenue stream that enables the Club to provide food service year-round in multiple locations. The Club’s food minimum is administered on a quarterly cycle, enabling members to dine at the Club at their convenience and allowing the Club to reinvest in its food and beverage program and provide an outstanding member experience across all Club dining venues.

What is applied toward the quarterly food minimum?Food purchased at all Club dining areas, including dining rooms, halfway houses, Pool Pub, Pool Bar, Pavilion, Squash Social Area, etc. is applied toward the minimum. The food portion of most special events is also applied toward the minimum.

What are the food minimum cycles? The Club’s food minimum is administered on a quarterly cycle, with the last dates of the cycles for all members set as March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31.
