Welcome to the lazy, hazy days of Summer. Our pool is open, the bocce courts are busy and other sport activities await your use.

Last month the Board and helpers did some house cleaning in the sheds. Labeling and consolidating items has made it easier to locate what you need.

A few reminders –• No food of any kind at the pool, so please use the picnic area.• Be respectful of your neighbor’s property and walk on sidewalks to the pool. Please do not cut through backyards to the pool.• Please report all street light outages to the office. The electric company will be contacted to resolve the issue.

a REMINDERA Reminder—The nice weather is soon to be

upon us and it is time for us to care for the outside of our homes. We should inspect our lawns and the exterior of our homes for any winter damage we may have overlooked. Remember, this is our responsibility. Planting grass seed and flowers is always a wonderful way to bring in the spring

season. Overhanging branches can help give the animals a direct path into your home and should

be cut back. Finally, it is the property owner's responsibility to clean up damaged shrubbery and

fallen branches from their property after storm conditions.

firewise CommitteeAs a reminder, just this month we saw two Pineland fires in neighboring Burlington County. It is the Firewise committee intensions to help educate and take measures to try and keep our community as fire safe as possible. To this endeavor the Trustees have authorized a portion of Zone 1 to be cleared out as part of our mitigation process. We will be holding a Firewise cleanup day scheduled in September. We will be asking for volunteers to help us clean out dead branches and debris from the common areas.

The Firewise committee would like to remind everyone to submit any costs (hours with dollar estimate) that you have acquired making the grounds around your home less fire prone i.e. cleaning your home’s gutters, removing mulch and replacing it with stones or clearing out dead trees or shrubs. There is a form in the clubhouse for just this purpose. The reimbursement from the state, if any, will be applied to further Firewise clearing of our community wooded areas.

It is also noteworthy to mention that Pheasant Run is a part of the town’s Municipal Wildfire Safety Council along with several neighboring Communities. The purpose is to share ideas and to see where we can join or share in efforts in making our communities as fire safe as we can. Thank you for your cooperation.

All good things supposedly must come to a finish (OK the old saying says "the end"), but after 19 years as President of Pheasant Run Bowling league, Jennie Mahon is graciously stepping down but she is far from finished. Assuredly all past and present league members are grateful for your long and faithful guidance, Jennie, in keeping us all in order and especially for all the fun we have had. You will be missed by all.Anthony Coppola is also resigning as Treasurer. Anthony has done a great job of keeping the money straight when it was not always easy. Thank you so much. He has to be congratulated for his outstanding bowling prowess. The bowling lunch at Elements was enjoyable just by the fact that the teams got together and had a chance to socialize a little. Forty-seven people attended. It can be difficult on bowling days to have much conversation but somehow we manage to be friendly and support each other.

Plaques were presented to the first place team - The Godfathers - along with free games donated by Jim from Thunderbird Lanes. Jennie presented the team with Red Noses. Thank you to everyone who gifted prizes which added a bit of joy to the day.The August planning meeting for next season will be Thursday, August 11th at 10.00 a.m. Please plan to attend in order to fill the vacated positions of President and Treasurer. We look forward to new residents joining this fun and social activity.
